The main reason for buttwink is the torso-legs proportions.
If you got longer legs, widen your stance

Placing my heels on some plates to raise the heels has helped me greatly

Omg I’ve been doing this so much better now, thank you!!! I had no idea why my lower back felt pinched until I saw this.

I struggle with fixing this so much. I'm gonna work on my hip mobility and hope to God that it fixes. Even with a pretty wide stance, it still happens at the bottom and I like squatting below parallel

This is such an important tip, I've struggled with my form for ages and didn't realize how much it was affecting my lower back.

I appreciate the clear explanation on the butt wink, it’s definitely something I need to work on to avoid injury.

Excellent point, I see so many people missing this one and hurting themselves down the line. In my book, the rounding can also have neurological reasons (nervous system), as in many people just don’t use the hip’s range of motion much ever, so gaining access to a deeper squat by working on that hip bend / range of motion with a high level of mindfulness/awareness can help as well.

Look up at the ceiling when you squat. You’ll never round your back again

Theres a move called "Hello sunshine" and ultimately making an individual roll there hips back creating a small arch which allows you to not have to deal with lower back pains

I find this is a plus, this way i also train my lower back. I intentionally do "bad form" to train my lower back and its become steel. Full range of motion rows, deep squats, deadlifts rounding my back a bit... Of course moderating volume. This way you don't have to isolate lowe back.

I still can't do this exercise right.. I either go only halfway down or go way low that I can't stand up again 😕

A buttwink does not necessarily cause injury. While it may be indicative of some underlying mobility issue, there are plenty of athletes, top athletes who squat with a buttwink with no issues. Get your info straight please

Really tense the upper glute/lower back and flex it in the opposite direction like holding the ‘up’ portion of a twerk so the wink has nowhere to form
