Adjust the pins so that they are just below your squat depth, and set the weight on the pins. Throwing the weight off your back is a last resort (and sometimes not possible). A spotter can’t just curl 3 plus plate off your back nor can they easily help you up at higher weights if you truly fail. The rack shown in the video even has westside spacing, meaning you have one inch increments to adjust the spotter arms around your squat depth. I always set the arms at the highest level below my squat depth, so I don’t need to round the back to set the weight on the pins. Stay safe. Thanks for calisthenics content (been a fan for a while). Just adjust the safety bars correctly. If the lift fails to go up, lower it to the safery bars. Don't throw it to the safety bars....

Well, the spotter should have read ‘the struggle’ from early. But to escape under failure with no safety bars ‘is’ to push the weight back while you go forward.

Safety bars are meant to keep you safe. Have them just below your squat depth. If you cant squat it just fall down and the safety bars will hold on to the weight

I didn’t have a spotter. I failed a 315 squat and put my hands on the safety bars to push my up with my arms. The weight tipped and the plates cracked my hand like a fresh egg.
