I just left a job I once loved. I've known that I've needed to quit for a while now... I've been watching podcasts and now this video. Every single one of those was my previous job. My last shift was Friday night and I've left so much happier since leaving already. I worked their almost 3 years.

Toxic workplace is filled with jobsworths and middle managers who do little other than who pass work along to a small overworked and under appreciated cohort.

I found this video after a very restless night. I have been at a new job only 8 months and there are numerous issues.. Like the frog in the pot of water, it's been getting hotter over time and I have been ignoring the signs.

the fact that i am googling toxic work- i am sure of a person on my team- controlling, the others are the flying monkies, cordial but, not trustful. I will be professional, show up do my job, stay neutral- all i can do. But, i am google this because one team member is stepping over boundaries. ARGH. I am new...but, i am not new to the job.

Some of these things are the same thing-- like a poor communication from a boss or higher ups leads to more gossip and drama. I am right now in a work environment where I am one of the older workers. There is a clique of younger recent college graduates who all act like they are still in 8th grade and often one of the bonding rituals is to target someone like me (older 'uncool' worker just minding their own business) and create drama, rumors and gossip around that person. Let me just say they have no idea what health issues I may be dealing with or what is going on with my family because I don't bring it to work, but their constant gossip and cliquey garbage just makes me want to quit. I would like to think if they knew my personal struggles outside of work they wouldn't target me this way, but they are a viscious pack of wolverines when together. They are okay one on one, they'd never say what gets said to impress each other in a group.

What a fantastic video! I think you covered it all really well. I would like to ask, how on earth can we try and screen these employers during the interview process? It would be nice to find questions to come prepared with to a job interview so that it can help reveal these types of red flags before stepping into the company. What questions can we ask in the job interviews?

I work in a cubicle space with a clique. I’ve tried to ask my boss if I can move but she won’t allow it she told me to be more social.

Everything you described here happened to me at my recently concluded engineering internship. Gladly I took all the evidence and kept them with me lol. Funny enough they were so toxic including the Managers that they always thought to be right. No reflection of any kind. Either ways, thanks for the video.

The one about the unmotivated workers gives me the first result, but also a third one: anger and resentment at the lazy and unmotivated employees. Also, is a turnover of roughly 70 percent and up really high? Especially for restaurants? And I think I'm definitely experiencing the burnout.
