Which To Buy: Tesla Model Y or Model 3?

They say the Tesla Model Y is essentially a bigger version of the Model 3, but there are some differences. In this video, I compare the Model 3 and the Model Y.

I go over what the differences are, both major and minor, and hopefully help you decide which one best suits you if you are in the market.

Our vehicles are a 2022 Tesla Model 3 and a 2023 Tesla Model Y. Keep in mind the 2024 Tesla Model 3 is the refresh version and has new looks and features compared to my 2023 Tesla Model 3.

I like that configuration. Stealth, white interior, induction wheels. I don't see it too often but I think it's the best.

Both are excellent and having settled on the Y, though the 3 got updated, does not disturb me much. Y feels like a truly timeless machine. I really don’t know why one would alter the outside look of it at all. It is the modern beetle.

How does the AC in the Model Y handle the Vegas heat?
I’m in Florida, where it is similarly hot.

We started out with the Y in Feb 2023 when the price drops hit. Got it for 49k before the $7.5k rebate. This year just bought a 2023 SR M3 for 28k. Insane value. Even though I'm 6'4" I was pleasantly surprised to find that I like driving the 3 more than the Y. It just handles so well and feels like a cruiser. I will say on the highway on longer trips the Y is better comfort wise. Maybe in a few years I can trade it up for a Highland M3 Performance at a good price!

It's an electrical device, so buying a new one is usually the better choice—unless size is a priority for you, haha. The Model 3 now comes with a new design, ventilated seats, ambient lighting, improved suspension, double-layer window, back seat screen and 17 speakers.

What percent is the windshield tint? Definitely a tough choice between the two but id be happy with either one

I got the model 3 highland over the model Y. Felt like the upgrades were worth it. Also living in the city, I like having a separate and closed off trunk. Never have to worry that someone could break a window and get into the trunk from the car itself (I’m not in sketchy areas but just in case)

I feel like I have to bend in half in order to get into the 3, so I'm ordering the Y

It very well could be gone now, but saw a 2020 model 3 for $800 not sure why they were getting rid of it for so cheap but I’d of loved to have it model 3 or Y is my preferred model of choice
