There is a 4th option for charging if your dryer plug is close to where you park. Dryer Buddy. Allows you to have two plugs instead of one. No house modification required. I'm getting a 25-27 miles per hour charge.

Don't buy the cheap $10-20 outlet. Spend the money and buy a Hubbell 14-50 outlet which is almost $100. They are higher rated so if you are removing the plug daily (using the mobile charger) it will hold up and not be a fire issue. The cheap plugs are meant for something like a dryer or stove, you plug it in once and unless you move the item, they don't get unplugged. This is something that most people don't understand. These outlets carry 30 or more amps. The cheap plugs are not built to stand up to daily removal of the plug and the connectors inside will weaken and that is when a problem can happen. It will not happen on day one, but weeks or months later. Why risk burning down your home over $80-90 extra dollars for a quality plug. May you kill that $200 Tesla charger. If you are smart you can wire your own otherwise, hire an Electrician to do the job.

Just so you know. Copper has tripled in price in the last 2 years. A 50' roll of 6/2 copper Romex is $185. Breakers and other equipment is also 2-3x higher. It's not electricians ripping you off, it's materials going through the roof.

Also, consider buying used. I bought a used 20000 mile long range M3 with FSD for 40k before prices started getting crazy. Best decision ever

My electrician told me the price of metals and materials has gone up since 2020. Most expensive piece being the power cord from the breaker box to the Tesla wall charger. That distance impacts the cost of installation for sure.

When I had my solar and battery system installed, knowing I would eventually need this outlet I pre bought all the materials for the Install and since they were replacing my breaker box the electrician actually did the hookup for free, I got lucky to have such a great electrician... Of course I gave him a nice tip which was way less than it would have cost to have someone else do this later....

Ride quality is a similar myth to the inferior quality and check lists new owners bring, because they see YouTubers exaggerate things. Tesla’s are built well, and tech with OTA (SOTA and FOTA) is industry leading.

The ride quality of the MYP is much better than my 21 Acura RDX Aspec with 20” wheels. The MYP is so much smoother and supple. The acceleration of the MYP is intoxicating - blows the doors off most vehicles on the road from 0-60.

My dude, I'm seriously considering buying a model Y. Today (4/19/23) Tesla dropped the performance model Y's price to 54K and you get $7500 federal tax credit. Plus in your in NJ there is no tax at all and you'll get 4k tax credit from the state

We ordered a gray market Tesla model y performance in Thailand just before Tesla bought a business license at twice the price as we felt, it was worth it. We were lucky we got our money back from that when we saw the business license in the press as we canceled it got our money back and on the first day we ordered a model Y performance. We never been able to test drive a model wide performance in Thailand, so it was quite a surprise that first day when we drove home. 22, 000 km later the car has been flawless. Now I don’t get very long range with it or anywhere near as advertised but my wife does when I’m away on business. We were looking at other cars when we happened by a gray market dealer that was selling Teslas, as well as other cars, not commonly imported to Thailand as soon as we test drove the Tesla all other considerations for other cars were gone.
We ordered on the first day available here on December 7, 2022 and received our model I performance on May 10, 2023. We had no complaints during delivery. One complaint that came up later was the sound of rain makes when it lands on the rear hatch and the rear quarter panels, exposing the fact that there are very low noise deadening material placed on the body panels exterior. So I fixed that with some dynamite.

Holding onto the hope of a battery that can do "400 miles" because lets face it, it won't ACTUALLY be 400, but at least then it will actually get above 300 miles of range.

The forums are unreliable. There are a handful of people saying they wore out their Model 3 18” tires in 10k miles lol. My 19’s went for 40+

I am glad to hear the ride quality isn't bad on the MYP

The model Y seat kill my hips as a driver. I weight 160, 5’7. Can’t find any good seat posture😢 My old Nissan Maxima beat those Teslas seat. MYLR 2022, Austin version. Anyone have the same problem?

Nashville roads should be the standard for evaluating ride quality. This was the video I needed to decide between a YP and a YL. Thank you from a regular I-24 and 440 driver.

Here in the U.K. the model Y performance has enhanced suspensions and it was as comfortable as my BMW X5. Ordered one today.

I think iv seen you around Nash before, not sure how many red/white MYP are in our area but I saw this one recently. Might have been you! My blue/black M3P will be here next month, might see me around town. I feel like the people that complain about these cars have grown up riding in the back seat of daddies 150k benz. I test drove M3P, M3LR, and M3 on Turo before deciding and they all felt extremely comfortable and smooth. But iv owned 20-30k cars my entire life so ofc its going to be super comfy for me!
