Model y is more practical but model 3 handles better and rides better too. After owning both, my vote goes to the model 3

I own both!
The Y is more comfortable and spacious, but I prefer to drive the 3 because of the go cart like handling and smooth ride.

Both cars are essentially the same, just one is an actual small sedan, the other is a small crossover. If you compare the trim levels, they both offer about the same. The decision should come mostly from the available room inside. If you need more space and optional a third row, go for the Model Y. Otherwise, if you are going for a regular sedan, go for the Model 3. If you are looking for better performance, well, only the Model 3 really offers the.... Performance trim which is the fastest of all trims both for the Model 3 and Y.
A lot of people I talk to want to know which is better, faster, comfortable, bigger... blah blah. Stop asking and go to a Tesla store to compare them. Inside they are basically the same, outside they almost look the same, and like I said, it all comes down if you want more space or not, or, the best performance. Even price is about the same on the same level trims.
As for me, I went with the 2022 Model 3 Performance, even with 3 kids, I wanted speed and performance, my wife has a Kia Carnival SX Prestige (top of the line 7 seats with all the luxury and gadgets for the kids including integrated tablets on the middle row) so there was no reason to go for a Model Y. Wish Tesla would get in the mini van business, I would get one probably sooner than later once the Carnival gets old.

The 22 Model Y is very comfortable. Tried both the 3P and YP. YP won my heart. More space, more comfy, and rides real smooth (Chill/comfort steering). 0-60 3.5 sec.

In Romania, the Model Y standard is 46.990 euros and the Model 3 is 44.990. I think the prices are very good. Still, a long way to go for me, but I hope that in 2-3 years I will join the Tesla club. Wish me luck 🤞

I just ordered a YP on the 7th. That was the first sale day in my country. They took over 4000 orders that day. It was $70k The white interior was not available but that is what I wanted

Model 3, its more like a sport car, it was born to be on the streets.
Model Y is just to follow a trend as a mid size SUV, like a plus size model from the 3, higher and wobbles unhappily by high speeds

Model Y has an available OEM tow hitch, useful for light hauling and installing a bike hitch rack. In the US, Model 3 is not rated for towing and has no OEM hitch. Aftermarket Model 3 hitch is difficult to install and not suitable for carrying heavy e-bikes.

I was in the market for an EV and narrowed it down to the model 3, model y and ioniq 5. The Hyundai was out bc of charging infrastructure and the model Y is way too expensive. Went with the model 3 and I think it’s the only Tesla worth buying at the moment. It’s the only Tesla that punches above its weight in terms of almost everything, specially price. I also liked how it drove much better than the model Y. I come from hatchbacks sporty cars. At $66k for the model y… that’s closer to the Taycan than I really feel comfy paying. Lol

drove both Perf. models and now own the M3P. Very easy decision for me. From a fun factor standpoint M3 hands down. The MYP felt extremely numb and boring to drive for the performance spec it boasts. The M3 is a total different animal

As somebody that has both as well I would definitely say if you're going for the long range or standard versions of the car go with the Y because I feel like the overall comfortability is better but if you're going for the performance version I would definitely get the 3 as it handles way better and feels less janky at high speeds
