Cannot stress how important it is to just make your own meals, the amount of money you save and the quality of the calories is night and day

100% agree, healthy choices and sufficient protein for your goals and ur good, don’t worry about gaining muscle or losing weight, train hard and it’ll come.

When you decide to lose weight but are already making good food choices how do you lose weight, make better food choices? This is why calories do matter and why counting them is advantageous.

“Better food choices. Meat, fruit, trenbologne sandwiches, done”

Yes, choose better food but I also count calories in order to take things to a higher level, especially when trying to get lean and gain muscle. It also helps me dial in my mass gains without putting on excess fat.

With today’s apps, it take very little time and if you are confused by this…I feel for you 😂

Here is my two cents on the matter, if you are new to dieting it would be advantageous to track calories and macro nutrients in the start so you get an idea of how much you eat and what you might expect from different food types, but once you got the general idea down, you can stop tracking them and just go by intuition.

Better food choices keep you feeling full. Processed foods are engineered to make you hunger for more.

You’ll meet three kinds of people in this world: those who can count and those who can’t.

Counting them is for a short time goal...
But for a lifetime of health and fitness just eat clean and healthy for the long run

Maybe for a more experienced person yes but for those still learning keeping track of calories is important

Yess, I want to make sustainable changes and counting calories is not sustainable for me. I get sick of doing it really quickly and if you cook at home, which I do every night, it's even harder to track calories. Just have 3 healthy meals a day, lots of water, portion control.

When you are cutting it’s vital to track.

Just because smth works for you doesn't make it proof that it'll work for everyone. Calories in vs calories out is always in play whether you track 'em or not.

I track calories everyday but, I struggle with eating enough, so I make sure to track how much I'm eating to make sure I'm eating my 3000+ cals. Because if not I could probably go with 1000 and be done, but it works for me, and I've been reaching my goals with it. Eating enough protein and calories is all I concentrate on.

I think it all comes down to your experience and ability to know how to fuel your body. I am horrible at eating intuitively. I eat fast, I eat under duress with work etc so I overeat if I dont track/weigh. Experienced people who have controlled food intake for long periods probably have the ability to keenly portion and eat the right amounts without over eating.

The whole goal is for you to have a good relationship with food. Understanding what your body needs and feeding it the right fuel. I always understood what good food was trying to build muscle at a young age. With time metabolism slow down and I realized that I didn't know everything. Calorie counting change the game for me because it made me look at the macro and what was actually inside the food.

I understand that grocery stores are making money off of you by portraying what a good food or smartfood is.. Is still a business trying to make money off you and once you start looking at the ingredients and the macros and understanding how the food can work for you, while you're trying to build you're better you.

I understand calorie counting is not a long-term goal and you have to create your shortcuts I don't count vegetables I'm not crazy with fruits but I understand where I have to be careful. Your goal should just be to understand what kind of fuel is good for your body and nobody's the same.

Commit and work hard. And if there is a generation after yourself love them and teach them to love themselves and to take care of themselves.
