Hello Ms. Brigette! I just want to share that I got a job offer today as a civil design engineer for a Dubai-based company! Your videos really are a great help! Even if I do not have the experience required for the position, I did my best in the exam and of course in the interview, and I'm glad my hardwork pays off!

Thank you Madam for the words "if it's meant for you, you will get it" "No need to be hard on you if you slipped"

"Just do your best and let God do the rest." That is a great motto to have in life.

I accidentally overshared in my previous interview for a Christian institution. In my defense, you can't ask me about my relationship with Jesus and expect me to NOT tell my testimony. 😂

I loved the tip about salary expectations, and to not use the term “get your foot in the door”. Great content!

These are awesome tips! It's frustrating though, because many employers don't display the same level of respect and consideration.

I tend to overshare in large part because of my insecurity. I am also not a fan of corporate culture in general. It all just so fake.

Thanks for these tips

You hit it - Salary of the current and past employers is irrelevant to prospective; they would have budget for the skills the company required to deliver targets.

I was on an interview and the interviewer asked me if I was married, had kids, if I want kids. I really did not know what to say. I should have said I do not discuss this.

I just watched this video and some of pointers (in fact all of them) are stuff that we tend to overlook especially as young people who go out looking for a job in the corporate world. Thank you Bridgette for compiling such insightful and memorable pointers on how a person should be conducting themselves during an interview.

I truly enjoyed this vid... I was recently asked re. personal details of taking in my grandniece as a dependent; I deviated from the question as I did not appreciate its relevance to my application. I knew then I won't be considered and I have no regrets... I had always been one of the best employees there was until a family situation would arise (i.e., parent's demise), since then I was only there for the contract, not for the long-haul. I believe that a true international organization that professes equity and recruits different nationalities should be able to integrate respect of values in different cultures esp if the practice does not infringe on organizational or functional expectations (such as attending a parents wake, funeral and other post-burial tasks). 😀

Thanks! That was very informative, I definitely can use the advice of being more confident in myself, I've had lots of opportunities where I went into an interview feeling not worthy. Thanks again, and have a blessed day!

Fabulous advice. I particularly liked the advice about answering the salary expectations question!

This is a great glimpse into the thinking of people in HR. Unfortunately, it also reveals why people in HR are so limited in their thinking and actually really bad at finding quality candidates.
