When people find out I'm gay, they start to talk about modern family and then say that they like the gay couple. Like once a person talked to me about modern family AND DIDN'T EVEN MENTION THE GAY COUPLE AND I WAS SHOOK.

I think 99.9% of the gay community can relate to this:

WE ALL KNEW WHAT THAT QUESTION WAS IN HIGH SCHOOL!

Many people relate 'homosexuality' to being an adjective, such as "Stop acting gay" or "That's so gay". Homosexuality is not an adjective, you can't describe us and box us under one banner to say "you are all the same". It goes to show how narrow your perspective on people is, because it means you haven't actually met that many gay people to understand that we are as vast and different like everyone else. We pay our taxes, we pay our respective sports, we have our friends, and we have our clothes, but none of that should be categorised as 'gay sports' or 'gay friends' or 'gay clothes', because our sexuality does not define who we are! We are more than that and always will be.

And one of the annoying things I get is, "How's your gaydar?" Gaydar is not real, it is based on preconceptions and stereotypes. Just because he's wearing Andrew Christian underwear, whilst in a gay bar on his phone using grindr, it doesn't mean he's gay.

I hate when people tell one of my guy friends that he's their "gay best friend". Why can't he just be your best friend? Why do you have to put the word "gay" in front of it like he's a part of a special category? You wouldn't go up to a colored person and say "OMG Youre my black best friend" because it's just not necessary
