Plastic is everywhere. It has accumulated in our very bodies as microplastic.

The most logical course of action will be to sort out the problem at it's root. Simply use hemp and sugarcane to make plastic instead of petroleum based ingredients. Then there won't be any more problem :)

The reason is commerce and human greed. Humanity lived well without plastic and its components and chemicals in everyday life (plastic, detergents, etc. - everything that kills the flora and fauna of the planet). Alternatives - glass, paper, soda, etc. But commerce dictates its own (the clearest example is Teflon).

Easy, stop packaging and wrapping everything in the stores with it. There was a time when plastic wasn't prevalent not so long ago and manufacturers seemed to be able to stock the stores just fine. Its more expensive to use glass and metal containers that's what it really boils down to, greed.

For obvious reasons the good people of the town of Chillingbourne would never have an issue with plastic.

Big stores just wanted to get rid of staff to maximise profits for share holders
and all the small stores had to follow along.
