A common approach to resetting your sleep, is to pull an all-nighter. Basically you don't sleep for one day, and you go to bed at the desired time the next day.

However that's like putting a band-aid on a bigger problem. It's also one of the worst things you can do for your health, even if the end goal is a healthy sleep schedule.

Rather than pulling an all-nighter, you should focus on fixing your sleep habits.

It's good to to understand how your body knows when it's time to wake up or go to sleep. There are two factors that regulate this and I'll talk about them in this video. You'll also get some actionable tips at the end.

I'm a pro at this and the following, in my opinion, is the best way to get back to sleeping and waking up early. It's actually very simple. If you go to sleep normally at 3 am set your alarm clock for only a four hour sleep for that day. Start your day at 7 am by jumping in the shower then dressing up and doing your bed. Have your breakfast and you should have enough energy to get you through most of the day. By 5 pm, it's normal to feel tired, but DON'T go to sleep just yet. Do not drink any coffee or energy drinks and by 9:00 pm laying on your bed will feel like your in heaven. Say your prayers and before you know it, it only took a little will power with the right strategy to achieve normal sleeping habits.

When I was 13 I ALWAYS like almost everyday I sleep at 3am-4am in the morning and few years later I had insomnia haven’t sleep for about 4 days straight then now that I’m 19 I still suffreing from sleep problems it’s hard for me to sleep early. But I tried sleeping early but always end up waking up about 3am in the morning. I always get 5-6 hours of sleep

Great video!! As someone who used to stay up until around 2-4am every night, and has managed to shift my schedule earlier, I'd also add in the following:
- Avoid your phone late at night: (A) it has the blue light issue you mentioned and (B) it can be a gateway to other distractions like texting, social media, etc.
- Have a consistent night routine: In that routine, includes things that get you to relax and wind down (like reading, journaling, etc.). Having a consistent routine you follow every night will get you in the habit of going to bed right after the routine is over.
- Think of any behaviors which are causing you to stay up late, and make a rule not to do them after a certain time: I already mentioned cutting out your phone, but depending on what your vices are, you might want to consider cutting out video games, TV, podcasts, or anything else that keeps you up later than planned.

These are some of the strategies which have helped me start going to bed and waking up earlier. I hope they are helpful to someone.
