🙂There is a spelling error in the video. "Unami" should be spelled "Umami" うまみ a Japanese word referring to the taste of amino acids.

Nothing beats intermittent fasting on a weekly basis. Add prayer too.

Has anybody else ever noticed that when you are emotionally satiated and feel loved and well-connected to others that you no longer have these kind of addictive cravings?

I don’t believe any substance or behavior is fundamentally addictive. It’s what we’re missing in our lives that makes it seem that way.

My dad told me go one week without sugar and milk in coffee and you'll never go back. He was right!!

I went without sugar for over a year. The first time I ate something sweet (a little piece of candy), my body rebelled. My heart pounded and I began to sweat. Made me realize the strength of sugar’s ability to make you crave more despite having just eaten something sweet.

My joint pain was getting really bad. I could barely walk down stairs my right knee hurt so bad. I changed to an organic, whole food diet with no sugar and all the pain went away. It was truly life changing. So many health markers improved greatly and the mental clarity was off the charts.

You really cut to the chase, girl, and call it out. Absolutely right! My Chickasaw grandfather born in 1911 taught us it would weaken us and kill us. He was a bricklayer and more muscular and fit than any young athlete I have ever met through mine or my middle aged son's life. Thank you. We all fall prey in emotionally tough times and need continual reminders like my grandfather's warnings.

Since quitting sugar, my skin came alive, no spot, no marks on my skin, no buffed up eyebags in morning and I look much younger. I sleep much better and far more energy through the day. Belly slimmer with added gym and walking.

Keto changed my tastes. I went on keto to cure my pre-diabetes, and it did that, in 3 months. But to this day, 5 years later, I am now still sensitive to the sweetness in foods.

I can now taste the sweetness in raw walnuts, for instance, whereas before keto, they tasted bitter. After keto I understood why some onions are called sweet. Before keto, I only thought of the raw ones as hot.

Before keto, I was enjoying sweet Starbucks coffees and teas every morning (which I believe caused the pre-diabetes). But the other day I took one of my Christmas gift cards and tried one of their new cold hazelnut coffee drinks, and it tasted gross -- like drinking liquid candy.😢 I could only tolerate a sip. I have put it in the fridge & I'm very slowly using it up by using it as a creamer in black coffee.

So I agree with everything the good doctor says EXCEPT I don’t think any post-keto sugar spike is going to be a major thing for me.

I attribute my permanent change of taste to the keto diet that I was only on for a few months, 5 years ago (Thank you, Dr. Berg!).

Fermented foods, nuts, seeds, fruits have helped me to cut back on sugar intake. I am now only using sugar in my coffee. I appreciate your in-depth knowledge!

I have lost over 100lbs and yet I cannot escape my sugar addiction. I have eaten plant-based for almost 3 years and it is still difficult to eliminate snacking on granola bars, cookies and breads. This information is very helpful. WHOLE FOODS ALL 2024!

The best thing about this lady - she speaks quickly and gets right to the point. The worst thing about YouTube is speakers who shilly shally around.
