Next time you’ve got a pool day or beach day coming up, this factor is going to influence your blood sugar more than pretty much anything else.

It’s not going to be the alcohol (if you drink).

It’s not going to be the snacks.

It’s going to be…. dehydration.

Think about it.

It’s likely warm outside so you’re sweating. You’ve got the sun beating down on you, and you may be running around, swimming, or being active, so you’re sweating even more…

So you’re going to lose fluid.

As you become more dehydrated, your blood sugars, if high, will be much more stubborn to come down.

So, staying in range will be paramount as will staying hydrated.

And don’t forget fluid is only part of the equation, electrolytes are the other part as well.

This will make sure that you are successful on your next beach trip.
