You can recognize narcissists because they have long ebony black hair (that's how they got their name) with purple streaks and red tips that reaches their mid-back and icy blue eyes like limpid tears and a lot of people tell them they look like Amy Lee (AN: if u don't know who she is get da hell out of here!). They're not related to Gerard Way but they wish they were because he's a major fucking hottie.

My eyebrows aren't big because I'm a narcissist, I just don't know how to groom them. I still think I'm better than everyone but completely unrelated

I just learned I am a narcissist. I hate keeping eye contact, I sleep a lot, I take my phone to the bathroom and I am a woman.

Why are people acting like it's a weird, manipulative thing to act differently in different contexts. That's like one of the most normal kind of social skills

"all of my personal relationships are ruined by narcissists, and i will use my supernatural powers of dark empathy to make them miserable" said the completely normal person

as a person who was abused, the "abusers are evil monsters" idea kept me from realizing it for a long time. cause like. my mom wasnt an evil monster. she was a person. so clearly she couldnt be abusive.

"Why do narcissists sleep a lot?" ...Did he. Did he maybe misread Narcoleptics somewhere along the line? I’ve literally never heard that one before.

27:55 "Narcissists can't self-reflect" is a hilariously ironic statement given the condition's mythological namesake lol

twilight remake where edward is a narcissistic energy vampire and jacob is a dark empath so there's really nothing supernatural going on it's just a weird book centered around pop psychology

The whole “you can’t be a narcissist if you’re worried you’re a narcissist / narcissists are unable to self reflect” is very similar to something I was told as an autistic person (by professionals too!): you can’t know you’re autistic, autistic people are totally unaware that they’re different. This is BS. It’s also deeply ableist in my opinion. Trust me, if you’re “different, ” and you’ve been that way your whole life… you know. Whether it’s through bullying or feeling unable to relate to your peers, you know something is off, and you know it’s probably you.

Dark empath vs. Narcicist vs Hyper-psycho Empath...just play DnD like a normal person, good grief. EDIT: i Used DND as a catchall term for pen and paper rpg. if everyone could please calm down that'd be lovevely, thanks.

Not only am I glad the narcissism thing is being addressed, but I'm also SO glad you brought up ODD. I have a young child and work with young children and I've always hated that as a diagnosis. It's like the specialist throwing their hands up in the air and going "I can't figure out why you're like this, so you're probably just fundamentally bad." Stop that right now, all behavior is communication and you have given up trying to figure out what this kid is trying to tell you!!! Resisting authority is one of the only things a kid CAN do when something is wrong! They don't know how to articulate that! Maybe try and help them out!

12:13 "narcissists with grandiose visions of themselves are the greatest threat to society, but you, the empath, are THE CHOSEN ONE" lmao. Is the irony fully lost on these people?

I kind of hate how people talk about personality and behaviour like it's a YA magic system. Empathy isn't the force, it's not wizard blood or whatever. Empathy can fail or be overridden in anyone. I've had people call me an empath but I know that my empathy is situational, it's biased, and it's suppressed by my brain if say I want to eat meat, or otherwise interact with a system that causes harm. People aren't just born with the magic "good person" gene or the "evil person" gene.

jesus it is so validating to hear someone with a platform say "trust your gut" isn't inherently good advice when plenty of people's "guts" are racist/sexist/otherwise terrible

I hate how atypical body language is villainized, it’s so idiotic. Like bro let me be autistic in peace.

32:40 "how to torture a narcissist through psychological manipulation" is literally a self report. Like, wtf. These people are literally making psychological abuse tutorials. Why would anyone who isn't an abuser want to know this stuff? Its sickening

holy shit as a new age cult survivor who grew up with the "energy vampire vs empath" "starseeds/indigo children vs normies" dichotomy ingrained into me, this is so refreshing. i'm so sick of trying to tell my story and being told "i hear you, my ex was a narcissist too." my cult wasn't full of "narcissist demons". it was full of PEOPLE. deeply misguided and abusive people, sure, but they were still people. we're all just PEOPLE. it was so scary to be a child believing that everyone who didn't agree with us was evil and inhuman. i won't let myself become an adult who believes that.

My hottest take as an autistic person is that this is also happening in some "neurodivergent" spaces of the internet. "Neurotypicals" are portrayed as a monolith, and weird evil people who take joy in oppressing the secretly superior "neurodivergents" (I say neurodivergent in quotes because these videos are almost always referring exclusively to ADHD and autism when the term is supposed to include all neurological differences)

Edit: I don't even know how to respond to the comments that are quite literally proving my point. You cannot tell if someone is 'neurotypical' or not when you meet them. It does not make them any more or less dangerous, and yeah, automatically feeling resentment to people you see as 'neurotypical' and treating them worse and seeing them as dangerous and dehumanizing them and saying it's suspicious to believe otherwise and that I'm a pick me for standing up for the fact that everyone is a human being and we are all different and some people are dangerous even if they're dyslexic or ADHD or whatever and lots of neurotypical people are lovely people as well just goes to show how deep some people are in this online rabbit hole. You watched this whole video presumably and can't even apply the lessons in it to a different situation.

Yes, society discriminates against autistic people. And yeah, that freaking blows and hurts a lot of people, and it hurts people of color more. But applying a systemic issue (ie discrimination and abuse) to interpersonal traits that you can label someone as a baddie for and then write them off is bad. That is literally the whole point of the video.
