My narc spouse can go from zero to sixty in a snap whenever he feels contradicted, corrected, refused, ignored- basically any situation in which he is not being admired or getting his own way. And his anger is ALWAYS disproportional to whatever sets him off- way over the top.

I’m dealing with this right now. He’s never laid a hand on me, but I get so scared when a rage begins. The look in his eyes, the veins, the shaking and the slander he says. I can’t help but to panic and cry, he mocked my crying and mocked my stance when I backed away from him shaking. He later apologized, but I’ve never experienced such an unempathic response to telling him the reason why I was scared, him.

It's amazing the damage one person can do. Narcissistic injury. They don't play by rule. Their rule is there are no rules.

To anyone experiencing abuse right now, please know that you are not crazy, your concerns are valid, and you deserve to live in safety and peace with those who respect and cherish you. And the best thing you can do to heal is to let go of your anger, though I know that is a lot to ask. I know it is easy to see these folks as evil or possessed, as their behaviors are evil. However, these individuals are neither. Something went awry in early development for them, and their behaviors are only outward manifestations of something they lack but cannot seem to obtain. Crossed wires in their brain.

Let them go, learn to love and forgive yourself, and be well.

Being afraid of absolutely everything I said, because I didn’t know what would set him off. I would always tell him that he had a switch that would immediately change his mood. Scariest 3 years of my life.

A woman had a narc channel where she talked about ways to "have fun" with narcs by trying to break their brains, but I would NOT recommend doing this, ever, as they are very dangerous.

I can't believe what I am hearing. I thought i was seeing things, but I have witnessed this "morphing" of the narcissist's face right before the attack. Crazy! I really believe these people are possessed.

Meanwhile, if you are stuck in a relationship with a Narcissist one of their goals is to bring you to rage. Then they are satisfied. It's NOT just a Narc trait, it happens to the most empathic people.

When my narcissistic wife went into a rage, she would take her loaded duty pistol (she is a police officer) and hold it to her temple. She would threaten suicide if I told her I was leaving her. Eventually l did leave her and shortly afterwards, my 15 year old son moved with me.

The rage was unreal, however I stood my ground many times..we did have fights, police were called..I left because it was getting too dangerous for me to be around him..he spewed venom at me every time he got the chance..And he kept saying that I was too strong for him..I just told him that I was not allowing him to be an asshole to me and the people I love..He absolutely hates me now..

First time I asked for a divorce, he threatened to kill me and asked me to pay back all the money he’d given me I guess since we’d met. I wanna curse him out so bad but I’m finally calm again and at peace. Jesus also revealed to me that I was dealing with a narc and a man in the darkness. I left him for good this time in Jesus’ Mighty name. Amen.

As I watched and listened to you Dr. Ramani, I remembered my childhood experiences with my narcissistic mother's rage. It was very terrifying and very damaging to my mental and emotional well-being. It caused me so much anxiety and fear.
