Hip traction is an effective way to help decompress the discs in your spine when managing scoliosis. You can do this at home using bands; no inversion table is needed.

Scoliosis is a three-dimensional problem, and when doing correcting exercises, you always need to move your body in three planes. Adding traction while treating scoliosis can help you avoid pain and increase mobility since every vertebra decompresses.

Prepositioning your head, one of the body's heaviest parts, and using a sturdy surface as an anchor, you can put a band onto the hips (not onto the belly) and bend forward. The pelvis is being pulled backward and traction through the whole spine.

Now the correction of the curve happens by moving the head and arm in three planes, the head is the driver to open up the curve's concavity, and the arm is the driver to fire up the core muscles. Combining both with movements in the frontal, sagittal and transverse planes, you’ll loosen and lengthen the spine.
