I cannot stand co workers and especially supervisors that like to small talk and pry into your personal life and especially if your new. I put a stop to that shit. I'm not here to make friends. I'm here to make my money and go home.

I remember taking this dude's number on my last day so we could stay in touch. He was cool, and the only person I really vibed with. We caught up over text maybe a week later and never spoke since.

Lesson learned. Keep it friendly, but never expect friendship.

I like keeping "professional distance". I really view my coworkers as "chess pieces" and not as actual human beings. It's all just a "game" where everybody is out to get  you. Coworkers will stab you in the back at any given moment if it monetarily suits them. Coworkers are just inanimate objects to me now. To me, they're like pieces of furniture at the store as I casually walk on by. THAT'S how I view my coworkers. Just cold, barren and lifeless objects who I barely acknowledge. It's best to isolate yourself from everyone at work and only talk to them about work-related matters. My new motto at work is "Trust No One". Everyone is out to get you in this cold and evil world.

I quit a job 3 years ago, am still friends with 2 of my ex coworkers, they are that awesome :)

Work is not meant to be friends with everyone . they are not friends they are just people that work with you . dont be surprised when they turn on you sooner or later. Not everyone is the same but 8out of 9 are real people maybe less but yeah . keep your business to yourself and keep these people at a distance . there are no friends in this world and if you have a friend then it is meant for season . people change and are influenced quickly

At my last job the entire place was a clique. So they considered themselves friends and the leader got me fired because I didnt fit in.

I work in healthcare, which is a solid 85% + female, every where I’ve ever worked. So nobody should be surprised by how cliquey and junior high the maturity level is, so very often.

Some will act so buddy-buddy, and will want to grow their relationship with you. A word to the wise, don’t fall for this trap. Proverbs 7 provides all the wisdom necessary.

I’m realising this at my current workplace. I am a quiet, introverted guy. However another colleague who is well liked but doesn’t always eat at the same table as others doesn’t mind eating with me.
I noticed a night and day contrast in how certain staff are when I was working around her and eating at the same table as her compared to others days when I’m more alone, as I don’t really have friends there.

I just realised most people at the workplace are not really friends but are playing a game to appear social and stuff.

People from work used to come up and say how come you don't talk and you don't have. They are in such a rude surprise that they have been dumb an delusional. One of those jobs that provide housing and so they are completely clueless to the like atmosphere
