I gave up sugar, carbs & process foods - dropped 20 pounds in 6 months going from a 38/36" waist to a 34" waist. No seed oils either, but I do use organic virgin olive oil, apricot kernel oil aprand castor oil. Vit D, K2, C, B, Zinc, Magnesium and Omega 3. The problem as noted is it's really hard to find the food you can eat in a processed/industrialised food world. Most 'low fat' products are deceptive when you look at the labels - often the sugar content goes way up. As you say, when you start to become label aware - your whole world changes... and I have had many people hint I've lost too much weight.

I quit all sugar and bread this past April. Best decision I made in a long time. I was clearly a sugar addict and didn’t even know it. Now back to high school weight and feeling great!

Dr. Brewer, this may be the best work you have ever done on YouTube. I know I like to pull your chain and make comments like I watch the show just to see Doc Jesus, but I am being serious here. This was extremely powerful, I encourage everyone to share this with their family members who need to see it. Well done Doc Brewer 👍

As a sugar addict supreme, I started KETO over a year ago and it took weeks of watching videos to get acquainted with it. I made lists of what I COULD eat and keep it on my fridge (like all the best veggies, etc) not what I couldn't eat. The longer you go, the more creative you'll be coming up with different ways to prepare food. My favorite these days is cooked asparagus or caulifower florets dipped into a bowl of warm melted butter mixed with sauteed garlic and some smoked paprika with sausage patties on the side. The most important thing to begin is watch 4 videos a day to keep you motivated, learn more and experiment! Stevia gets me thru the cravings with herbal tea, coffee and my home made dressing for salads. If I can do it, so can you!

Quit all sugar 1 yr ago, dumped anything with sugar out of cabinets and refrig. Lost 20 lbs. I purposely walk through the bakery section in the grocery store - pat myself for picking nothing up. I stand in the aisle reading labels, track food on cronometer. Last week high stress, I felt like a junkie going through cabinet and refrig looking for sugar…the craving passed. I grew up being told carbs good, fat bad. I heard an Italian Dr at the hospital say; beds are full because of SAD. Going out with friends to socialize is difficult because of restaurant menus.

I was feeling down..long time keto but gave in and bought a container of ice cream. Just listened to your talk... got up and threw ice cream in the rubbish without eating any. Thank you Dr Brewer😊

I was an alcoholic for years. Sugar was harder to quit than alcohol was.

my thrust into a sugarless world was being diagnosed with oral lichen planus. I knew the mouth was the gateway to my health and gum problems could signal cardiac issues. At 62 I am biologically 46.5 with Levels testing and 98% improvement in oral health-I can BRUSH!! I love this channel FORD BREWER- now fighting high Apo b and LP (a) but metabolically fantastic

Three years ago I went Keto, no bread, no starches, no sugar. I didn’t have a problem with cravings but lost 60 lbs, and BP went from 140/90 with meds to 105/75 no meds. However my cholesterol shot through the roof from 200 to 360. I’ve decided no Statins but it’s a good trade and am not worried. I’ve recently moved to more of a Ketovore diet. Really the biggest problem is social pressure to eat/try some new food I can see is bad.

It's so freaking hard to do. After dinner, I got in the habit of eating 3 small oranges, then at least 1 sweet snack before bed, where I crave something sweet so bad. Cutting out wheat and gluten helped fix a malabsorption problem, but I think the fruit fix after dinner will be my greatest challenge. Thanks Dr. Brewer for inspiring me to try again!

So true that people say you look sick and ask what’s wrong and if you’re okay 🙄

This video was spot on. I went through something similar myself but a little different. I was eating at least 600 (150g) (plus a lot or minus a little) calories from sugar alone. I am down to between 15-20g per day, 85% decrease. Cutting sources of fructose via cutting sugar should be the 1st step imo as it makes cutting carbs later easier. Made this change over 2 months. I cut other carbs afterwards by about 60-65% from roughly 150g to about 50-60g per day, in meals, not eaten independently. So a net change from 300g carbs per day to 80g carbs today.

Fructose causes those cravings, addictions and psychological effects mentioned to a greater degree when compared glucose by itself. Having an extra slice of bread or small amount of popcorn with olive oil and garlic only mildly impacts my appetite/craving which is easily suppressed. However, when I am stupid enough to buy a sugary food, pack of 4 doughnut on sale (thinking I will eat one and freeze the other) my appetite and craving for sugary and non-sugary carbs spikes to a "significantly" greater and less controllable degree. The same is true for salty carbs like Doritos or Potato chips. Fructose and salt (via a different mechanism), have a greater effect on the craving and addiction factors than glucose by itself which can and does overwhelm rational thought and will power.

You are very correct by saying tackle the sugary first if needed. Cold turkey is tough. Carbs cold turkey after a relapse is easier than during an initial kicking of a high carbs diet.

Of all the benefits which you mentioned, I was not expecting improvements knee joint comfort.
This was a blessing I was not expecting.

Gut health incidents and comfort improved by 85-90%.

David Batista's change is incredible. I am sure he added 5 year and likely more to his life.

As to Pizza, I am sorry, I will never give that up! 😂 However, as a compromise, I only eat "thin" crust pizza.

My only disagreement is with the mentioning "seed oils". I don't believe they are bad as claimed by some and in comparing canola oil to olive oil as an example, their only negative is having less polyphenol content. Overeating any oil-based food is easy as they have 2-1/2 time the calories. I am still looking for more definitive information on this.

Apologies for the long write up folks, I just can't stop after I start.
