As a retired auto body technician of 22 years I finally learned the proper way to blend panels which was one of the most difficult things to do, but your videos have given me much confidence and I must say I am getting better and better at it ...Thanks for time well spent jimmo4life.

Orientation coat is just a base toner with clear pigment. I've used over-reduced clears too, I prefer them when doing spot repairs.

i like the way you blend painted the car i was that you try to over lap the spray pattern, 50%., and the gun was set up as an full spray.you were also careful about the pressure drop.

Thats how you do it when you love your job. No orange peel and it does not even need wet sanding, polishing. Perfect job. Thanks.

I have two videos on blending clear, might be one labelled as spot repair but ya have a look at my chanel. I usually have to sand and polish the blend area to get it looking 100 percent, I'd say thats pretty normal.

The colors are typically good enough that we wont blend across a hood in many cases, blending a silver across a hood is also pretty hard to do.

Hi. Cool work! I want to ask what gun you put base?

Nice work! is the orientation coat a special product? I've seen people just use a thinned out coat of clear for this?

Does the orientation coat is just a clear base?

I must say that after watching this video and using this trick with nexa aquabase paint. Blending has been hell of a lot easier an halos are a thing of the past. Thanks for posting up this video.

Thanks for the video. Do you need to use transparent paint (not clear) to blend or is that only necessary when one doesn't know how to feather the paint into another panel? I'm a novice.

Do you have a video about clear blends? I'd like to see how others do it. I scuff with 1000 dry, clear half way into the blend area and apply blending solvent from outer edge toward fresh clear. The only problem is sometimes it doesn't melt in all the way and leaves dryness.

Did you use reduced presure for final blending coat for beter orientation off metal flakes?

When you sprayed the clear at the end of the video on right side of the door, where you said you didn't add any color (so it's clear over the existing clear), aside from tack cloth, do you do anything to prep the part of the door that will just receive the new clear coat in the final spray. Thanks.

I know nothing about auto painting, but was curious as I came across this video: Wouldn't you also have to 'blend' the fender paint into the 'hood?' If not, wouldn't the hood look like a different shade of color than the fender? Thanks.
