This is a Honda Oddysey bumper that I've blended my base coat across to restore this to a factory look.

Hope you have a great holiday man, enjoy all your vids. My wife had the same problem with a brand new Ford, the front bumper had been painted with a different batch of paint at the factory.Colour match was a mile out. Dealer actually ended up getting it refinished before we picked it up.

Thank you for this example.
Have a bumper with damage dead center very similar to this.

Hey first time leaving a comment but a long time viewer. Ya its great your coming to the states! Welcome! Well I live in Chicago so the pizza is awesome as for where your going I have been to Disney land and you and the family will love it. At this time of the year its not to hot and not so crowded. You guys she look into getting hopper passes at Disney they are a money saver and you can go to any of the parks and water parks as many times in a 2, 4, 5, 7 day period. Instead of buying each ticket.

Ya, it sucks but the summer gives you something to look forward to...and the winter is good for collision business...and pondhockey.

Hey, its good to be versatile lol. I don't know what the CFM requirements are for that gun as with my setup I don't really need to know. You'd have to have a look on the Iwata website.

absolutely not, I had sanded the entire bumper sorry i didn't mention the prep. The primer area was finished in 600 and the rest was scuffed with a grey nylon pad equivalent to around 800-1000 grit paper.

So if I buy a different color bumper from a junk yard then paint it myself, there's a good chance the difference in shades will be noticeable ?

Hey Jimmo... Enjoyed the tips and techniques! I'm an aspiring DIY-er from roofing to painting to coaching folks in fat-loss! It's looking like blending paint isn't rocket science after all! I'm sure there's a lot to prepare but step by step looks do-able! I have an older Binks 2001... haven't upgraded to HVLP... What kind of cfm does that Iwata require?
PS Definitely Canadian... my son married a gal from Goulais RIver and she is a sweetheart eh!

Ya, they are sprayed separate from the car..often in separate plants.

My current bumper is lighter than oem as well, over time the paint fades. I just tried to repair a peeling section and the oem paint is much darker, I've found it very difficult to blend it as I don't have an hvlp system. I'm just using a preval can.

Great video, Do you wet sand all your surfaces even the pieces that you are blending or just clean and leave existing clear coat?
thanks!

Nice video. I have a question, is clearing the whole panel a better idea than blending the clear? and why? thank you

How do you fix that color miss match? Do I have to blend into the fenders to match?
