Time to challenge your push-ups! The push-up is a super basic exercise, right? Every trainer, group fitness instructor, crossfit athlete or bodybuilder is familiar with them. They are part of testing for physical fitness in schools and military and are something just about everyone can picture. But HOW are you doing it? ⁣

See how many push-ups you do your regular old way. Then repeat it using this method. Post your numbers below and note how it felt. Tag someone who does push-ups and challenge them to try this as well! It’s likely that it will be much more challenging but it places your shoulder in a better position! If you are taking the time to work on your fitness- why not get the most bang for your buck? ⁣

You will need to connect to your shoulder blade to do this correctly. The scoop we talk about is a challenge for many people. It requires you to unshrug your shoulders and scoop the blade so that it slides away from the spine and down toward the side of the ribs. This will help to engage the serratus, rhomboids, mid and lower traps, lats, pec minor and will stabilize the shoulder blade and helps to prevent injury.⁣

Oh and that little floss action? That’s just a bonus! ⁣

Dude I've been looking for someone my entire life to explain wtf to do about my shoulder pain I've been in youth sports and work Ive never been able to find a way it made me sick you just made me so excited to use this cause it really works

This video comes as a relief for years of struggle with push ups. One more tip that has worked for me is to squeeze you butt muscle causing less energy leaks. I personally use knee assisted push ups to particularly target push motion from the pectorals.

Thanks a lot for this video! I couldn't feel my chest straining in forever and shoulder hurting. After a few days of practising the scooping motion I learned to activate my back muscles and my shoulder longer hurts and chest is feeling much more activated.

This video has helped me more than any other. I know it’s probably made to not seriously help anyone but my problem has been with BACK shoulder pain and this is fixing that. So thanks for this video.

I just did 3 pain free push-ups, slow and structured.

now I have no use of Andrew


😂 I actually have been doing reverse grip pull ups and hangs. The scoop video gave me something to work with. I scoop my thumbs when I reverse grip

Scoop this, scoop that, dive, etc.. Lots of rambling and fancy stickers but no articulate instruction on what to actually do and why. This is super silly.
