If you ask most men their fitness goal, one of the most common answers would be “getting a six-pack.”

And you can’t blame them. Whether you’re watching fitness content like this video, a movie, or a random ad somewhere, it seems like abs are always present.

And since the fitness industry knows many men aspire to have a set of chiseled, six-pack abs, there are also a lot of fake promises out there. From ads for the best diet to burn fat fast to the best workout plans that guarantee you will look like Brad Pitt in Fight Club in just 30 days.

All of this, combined with some unique supplements guaranteed to help you achieve your six-pack. You don’t need us to tell you to save your money, but let’s be honest… are abs worth it?

In this video, we go over 8 things no one tells you about abs. This video isn’t meant to demoralize you; rather, gives you a realistic picture of what happens behind the scenes in the fitness industry.

I wish you could get abs easily I was trying for years to finally realize my diet wasn't really good. Sometimes you just need someone to tell you what you should eat and how much. I got myself meal plan from site Next Level Diet and finally after couple of years of working out I got to see glimpse of a six pack.

Here's a true story---I'm an older guy, but I still work out. I've maintained a 14% BF for the last couple of years, but I haven't seen well defined abs in decades. A couple of summers ago, I decided I was going to get really shredded to prove I still had it at the beach. I got down to 10-11% and I could see my abs again, but my face looked like crap. My temples and cheeks were all sunken in and my skin was sagging like I had jowls. My wife hated it--my kids made fun of me. I had to decide between my face or my abs---I chose my face. This is another thing no one talks about.

Wow, that's a hella honest list! Still, if you wish to pursue the 6 pack, then you should know what you're getting into. Thanks

This was both depressing and enlightening; I hated some of the things I heard, but I needed to hear them. It was "that talk" but more about "abs." I'm eager to look good, but this information clarified many things that I have often wondered about. Thanks MuscleMonsters! You guys are awesome!

Vast majority of this video is a very big and hard pill to swallow and sad and ugly truths to come to terms with, however; depending on how we use it to our advantages with its pros to outweigh the disadvantages and cons, it can be an absolute blessing. Thank you for the video and it was another great one! 👍

Holy crap! Haven’t watched a video from you guys in ages (been busy) & this video came up on my recommended, I remember when you had like 70, 000 subs or something & I was like, the production quality doesn’t match the subs, these guys should have a million subs at least. It’s great to see you’re well on your way! Great video btw, i mentioned how abs are: shaped by genetics, built by training in the gym, and revealed by losing fat in a video I made a while ago, glad to see someone else has realised that! You’ll never look like that fitness model in the magazine because your insertions are different to theirs. But don’t give up because of this, perhaps your insertions are better 🤷🏾‍♂️

Probably the most transparent and informative video one can get on the subject. There's still so much people around who think that burning waist fat is done by doing belly exercises, which is a complete misunderstanding on the subject. Getting shredded and getting muscles strong are two complete different approaches / principles.

Saying "looks don't matter with women" is as disingenuous as saying "calories don't matter for weight loss/gain"

Great info! Abs are made in the kitchen as well as by exercising. I used to do the 10 min workouts that promised abs, but those weren't enough for me. I'm 48, 5'4 135-140lbs, and I have been focusing on my abs workouts. I definitely see the improvement in strength and appearance. Gotta keep it up, thanks coach!

Thank you for such an honest video. I started my weight loss journey about an year back and was at 23% body fat. Now I'm down to 16% and I thought my wife would be really happy about it. But as it turns out most of the time I am irritable and hungry. My toddler girl drains away my last ounce of patience. My friends think I am no fun on the weekends as I am dieting too strictly. And the going is already getting tough towards the 12% goal. So in the end as the video suggested "is chasing the six packs really worth it?"
