Not massively related to this particular video, but I wanted to thank you Abbey, for being in my head even when I didn't realize it at the time. Background: I suffer from clinical depression that comes and goes. (I'm now again at remission and fingers crossed I stay that way.) When heavily depressed (the episodes usually last somewhere between 3-6 months) I struggle with many basic tasks, cooking and eating being one of them. I have a few "depression foods" that I usually manage to eat even when heavily depressed and one of my go to is frozen French fries that I just heat up in the oven. Not the healthiest thing but at those times whatever I can eat, I eat, because going long periods without food is also not healthy. During my last depressive episode I started making myself a deal, that whenever I put those fries in the oven, I'd also put in a (frozen) breaded fish (sticks, filet, whatever the form), and I can eat my French fries and how much of them I want but I always have to eat the fish as well. At some point I added some (also frozen, see the pattern here?) grilled vegetables I found tasty as well. Now, I still had too much of the fries in relation to the veggies and fish, but the main thing is, I managed to add some protein and some vegetables to make it more of a balanced meal. And later on after coming up for air from that depressive episode I realized it was your voice in my head asking: "what could I add to make this a hunger crushing combo, to make this a more balanced meal?" Granted the answer had to come in a form that would fit the very limited resources I had because of my condition but nevertheless it came. And for that I want to thank you. For making it easier for me to eat a bit more balanced during a time in my life when simply the process of making a toast is sometimes just too much.

People are surprised when my kid picks broccoli over candy. It's not because they don't like candy or that I restrict them from eating candy. They just like broccoli more and they choose it more often. However, if they have a craving for ice cream they will eat an entire pint in less than a day. 😅

I continuously rewatch your videos about turning fear foods into hunger crushing combos - this video is scratching that itch. Thank you so much! So excited to put this into practice.

I really enjoyed this! Great ideas for looking for healthier snacks. It’s very confusing to know what to buy because there are many options and opinions out there, but I really value your advice. I’ve incorporated many of your ideas and recipes into my diet over the last few months and am enjoying my food so much more! Thank you Abbey!

Fiber One original is my go-to cereal so much so that when there was a shortage last summer I kept buying them six boxes at a time on Amazon . Perfect bars that you get in the refrigerated section are my faves .For something crunchy I go for Oroville's 100 calorie microwave popcorn which are calorie and portion controlled and full of fiber and volume to keep me satisfied . Thanks for your recommendations and tips!

I love your common sense approach to food... there's such a cesspool of advice out there! I am a cereal nut too! I now feel like I can indulge and stay healthy.. never thought of combining cereal for nutrition and satiety! Plus, you have gave us a great "cereal test"... now I can indulge with confidence! Thanks! XOXO
