My daughter has PCOS bad, she went really low carb because she saw how it reversed my diabetes & helped me lose weight. It's been really doing good for her.

I reversed my PCOS with a clean ketogenic diet. I also reversed the associated t2 diabetes, high cholesterol and NAFLD. I ate plenty of red meat ...

As someone who has PCOS and literally ate olive oil grilled salmon for dinner and watermelon for dessert tonight this makes me happy!!! Some of my favorite foods 🥰

RE: THE POTATOES
This is not a potato/PCOS specific dietary concern, it is due to PCOS being associated with insulin resistance (similar to T2 diabetes, but different disease processes). Starchy carbs like potatoes are not good for maintaining glucose levels/reducing insulin resistance. Of course, many people with T2 diabetes find ways to eat potatoes in moderation and reduce insulin resistance, so PCOS folks can as well 😊

Thank you for the information. Pcos is rarely diagnosed in South Africa. It took 24 years for me to get a diagnosis

My favorite thing to eat when my PCOS got me feeling terrible, is white bean and kale soup, with a little squeeze of lemon 😋
It’s so nutritious! And comforting

I disagree about red meat. And gluten and sugar should be at the top of the no nos.

I have fibroids and adenomyosis, did an elimination diet and found that HIBISCUS really aggravates my symptoms. It’s pretty incredible how much more I suffer when I drink it so it obviously really adversely affects hormones. Sad because it’s a lovely flavour and it’s mixed in as a base for a lot of ‘berry’ herbal teas, so you have to read the full ingredients list properly because they sneak it in without mentioning it on the front of the packet. Hope this info helps someone else ❤

Generally, a keto style Mediterranean diet works really well.

ya lost me at the red meat. nope. Its great. It helped improve my iron levels. if you eat unprocessed fresh meats. avoid any cold cuts or bacon or something with nitrates, it's good for you. humans have been eating meat for millennia. I am not going to stop now.

edit: most women are iron deficient. And its 10x worse in pregnancy and old age. almost 90% of women are iron deficient in pregnancy. Please go read real food for pregnancy. If cutting out red meat was good for us then we wouldn’t see this problem..but its not. The best source of Iron and the most absorbable form is heme-iron. Thats in red meat. My sister stopped eat red meat in high school and her iron is so low she has to get iron infusions via IV and she is on a ton of supplements. my iron was low when i was vegetarian for 2 years. its improved immediately when I stopped all that nonsense.

Red meat? Really? What should those with Anaemia do? I would avoid sugar more than read meat.

Sorry, as long as my anemia is worse than my PCOS, I'm eating red meat. Grew up mostly without that stuff, and you're not taking it away from me now! 😅

Low carb diet make my period cramp pain score of 10/10 go down to 2/10 and I don’t regret it. Keeps me motivated to keep my carbs down and I lost a lot of weight at that too !

Sorry, but you are wrong on red meat and watermelon. PCOS us from carbs and sugar. Misinformation here!🤨
