I'm no scientist but if everyone is staying indoors quarantining wouldn't everyone be trending towards being vitamin D deficient ?

We have been saying this literally since March. But back then it was a "conspiracy theory" or something.

Vitamin D and C are the best things you can be putting in your system. I take vitamins and eat healthy. I'm 28 and havent been sick once since the epidemic.

You also need enough protein and zinc in your diet.

A daily supplementation of vitamin D3 of 4.000 IU per day (every day) is considered safe. That is very conservative as an intake of 40.000 IU per day is found to be unsafe. For correcting deficiency a daily dose of 10.000 IU is needed with a maximum of 10 weeks (depending of bodyweight). The daily safe dose should be determined bij the bodyweight: 40 IU for every kg (4.000 IU with 100 kg)

Based on 15 studies, Dr. Robert Heany said that less than 30, 000 IU daily is not toxic. Vitamin D researcher, Dr. John Cannell, said, "Worrying about vitamin D toxicity is like worrying about drowning when you're dying of thirst."

More to the story: You can take higher doses (I take 10K IU daily), but you should also take Vitamin K2. That will help keep calcium in your bones, as opposed to having it float around causing kidney stones and whatnot. K2 will help counteract Vitamin D's penchant for pulling calcium out of our bones.
