Children need to learn nutrition in school. It's so important. Vitamin D is a healer. You need vitamin k2 and magnesium.

I completely agree with your assessment! I was feeling horrible with brain fog and lethagy for 3 to 4 weeks when I started taking D3 daily. Started with 50k units for 3 days then 30k for 4 days -now at 10k daily. Like you, noticed a gradual, but palpable improvement, around week 1 and 2. Remember vividly telling my wife one day that I actually feel great! Will continue supplementing daily.

BLOOD PRESSURE: My hubby typically has bp of 180 or more even sitting down! ive prompted him regularly to take 5, 000 iu Vit D and potassium gluconate powder twice a day EVERY day. very quickly he now has bp of 140!! i put a small clear snaplid container of 100 Vit D pills on his couch side table so he easily remembers to take them daily, and the potassium gluconate powder i put in a squeeze bottle on the kitchen counter so he puts a squirt of it plus vit c and collagen and turmeric (also all in squeeze bottles on counter) puts it all in a shot glass of oj and downs it. Gals, if you make it EASY for your guys to SEE and TAKE their vitamins, they will do it more readily, especially when they see results. Now for the thyroid combo...lugols iodine/selenium/tyrosine...is my next combo for him to take. done really good things for me!

I had severe depression for the last 2 years, a friend told me I should try vitamin d. At the time I didn’t want to take prescription drugs that could reap havoc on other parts of my body. One thing I tried was Vitamin D among other vitamins and about 2 or so months of consistent use, I visibly looked happier and I felt that way. The only thing I would suggest is taking vitamin D with either Vitamin A, E or a fish oil. Since they both synergistically affect one another and enhance the results. I have heard taking vitamin k2 is important. But, from what I’ve seen in research if you’re not taking doses over 5, 000 IU, then the benefits don’t outweigh the cost, since obviously you’d need to spend more on the extra supplement.

I have been using Vit D3 to try and improve my health. I am in my 60s. I try to get exercise by walking, running and a small amount of weight lifting. It's and on and off thing with me.
Last summer I joined a swim club to try and get more exercise. It was really great. It only took a workout of about 6 laps for me to feel it. I lost stubborn fat and my body looked so much better. I also went to swim at mid day in order to get Vit D from the sun. I am dark complextion so I can go out at almost any hour. This form actually last longer in the body up to several months. I was still good in December. My guess is that my Vit D drops low around March and I don't get much more until June.
I advise folks that if you take the pill form of 5000 IU Vit D or more include Vit K.
I would also advise you to get tested twice a year when you first start just to see the effects and for safety.
I like 40ng/mil for general health. 50ng for disease prevention. 60ng is my target. 80ng for theurapeutic use.
I am no doctor these are just my goals and opinions.

I have MS. I was taking VitD but didn't really feel it was doing anything, so I quit for 2 months. By the end of the 2 months I was basically dragging my left leg. My left side is my problem side. So I started taking it again (5000 in/day). By the end of 2 weeks I was walking much better, no more dragging. Not totally normal, but as close to normal that I will ever get.

My Vit D was 6. My Dr said it should be at least 50 but preferably 70-100. He put me on 100, 000 IU a wk. I was on it for 4yrs and it wouldn't budge pass 21 then drop again. I have Celiac Disease so I don't absorb most nutrients from my food so I bought Vit D3 drops. My level was 42 at last check. Drops are more absorable than taking pills especially if you have gut issues.

I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia, RA and chronic fatigue. I'm sure my Vit D played a part. I'm currently taking D3 with K2. Getting bloodwork done soon.

I had a 9 lol, I’m a 6’3 251 lb athletic built male. I began having issues with extreme fatigue, depression, and extreme body pain.. ran tests and my inflammation markers were one of the highest they had ever seen. I was immediately placed on 50, 000 IU a day and 5-6 days later, a massive 180 degree change. Mind clarity, pain and inflammation were practically gone, my hormones improved greatly, sex drive back up.

The scary part about this is that most physicians don't test for vitamin d, and if they do, the european range goes all the way from 20-60 ng/ml. Years ago I was at 11, 2 ng/ml, and my functional doctor at that time took me off the d-vitamin supplements when I had reached 22 ng/ml. I was inside the range 🤦‍♀️ Then years later I changed my diet in an approach to heal and together with it I started taking 5000 iu. And I achieved exactly what you mentioned. A whole turnaround with my health. But I unfortunately gave the credit to my plant based diet, and not the vitamin D, and I stopped taking it. My health declined again. And now after several years with extremely poor health, I have finally found the connection with d-vitamin. I've booked an appointment with my physician to get my levels checked again. And the minute I leave his office, I will take my first dosage of 10000 iu. Can't wait!! In March my levels was at 23, 6 - and since it was inside the "normal range", my physician didn't react at all... Even though I have all of the d-vitamin deficiency symptoms.

It's important to get your level tested. Although you're unlikely to get too much via oral supplements, since your body can break down the excess (as long as you don't go bonkers, like 100k IU per day), it's impossible to know how well you're doing without testing. Here's an example from my family... I had been taking 5k IU for several years, and then got tested, and found my level was just 32 ng/mL, so I doubled my intake to 10k IU and got tested again after half a year or more. My new level was just 37! Meanwhile, my sister takes 3k IU per day and her level is over 40. My dad takes 6k per day and his level is over 60!

My point is: everybody is different. Don't just copy what others do. Get yourself tested so you know what you're doing.

Also, if you're taking more than a few thousand IU you should probably think about complementing the D3 with Vitamin K2. They work together as a team.

Just learned today that Vit D is a part of the equation. Add in Magnesium (and the proper type) to help with the absorption of that Vit D and you are good to go.

I also take a high dose of D3. Something important to remember is that Magnesium is a cofactor and should be taken with D3. Plus if your taking a high does you'll need K2 along with it. This will direct the calcium where it needs to be in the body, plus has other benefits. Its important to take the K2 otherwise you have a slight chance of developing hypercalcemia, and that is a very bad thing. So be smart, keep track of your D3 levels and take the Magnesium and K2 with your D3.
