One day, I was walking to the liquor store to buy cigarettes, my wife just told me that she was pregnant and I didn't know how to be a Dad, I lost mine due lung cancer when I was 8, yes he smoked, that day I didn't choose to quit, I choose to challenge myself to see how long I can make a pack of cigarettes last... That day I had only one cigarette, that was the last cigarette I ever had, my son just celebrated his 11 year... And he still has a dad... 😊

Over the past 2 years I have slowly done the following.
1. Quit Smoking cold turkey after 27 yrs
2. Quit soda
3. Quit coffee/all caffeine
4. Quit weed
5. Quit alcohol
6. Cut 95% eating out and bad food
7. Exercise daily

10 yrs of my drinking and 3 yrs of chain smoking habit is now under control. I still can have a drink or two without hurting me much. I still can go with a packet of cigarettes a day or even none. I don't get the cravings anymore but i can take it whenever i want under full control but i don't do it anymore. I also started going to gym, reduced my sugar cravings and learned to eat healthy foods.

I believe once u start caring for urself and get disciplined, u start to see the opportunities and other good things around u. I still haven't achieved anything big with my career, don't have a partner or a family and I'm all by myself through these years but i believe it will happen soon because i feel stronger than before

Self discipline is key, you don't stop bad habits because of someone else, you stop them for you, I used to drink myself off and get home very late drunk and wasted, one day I said to myself, 'enough', I've never touched the bottle since then and I have accomplished so much, we are stronger than we know, just find yourself

I lack a lot of things i see in these self help videos. But i have persistence and have been so lucky that I have been waking up to try again. It's so amazing that within 24 hours we get to try again and try something different or do the same thing better. I haven't counted all the years and days where i have failed, those were time learning. Sure, maybe i need more classes than others. But I will keep repeating the process and find something that clicks. i know that is the formula to succees. Nothing else matters. When that day arrives i will go back to the video that resonated with me and leave a comment

Eating until we're full is what we usually do, but eating until we are satiated (no longer hungry) is better. Eating beyond fullness is gluttony.

I agree with Seneca’s sentiments, but the issue with his 3 days “hardship” was he had the comfort of returning to his riches at any moment. The poor and misfortunate don’t have the same ability and this is where suffering begins. People can’t even begin to fathom a life of comfort because they have never seen, felt and generally experienced it.

I'm a somewhat new subscriber and don't usually comment on anything unless it's worth it (saying less is more), but I do have to say thank you. Your videos make simple self improving concepts go a long way, and I think this is one of my favorites so far.

Seek Discomfort….very underrated. Walk long distances. Minimal items in your home. Eat as little as possible. I have done this and am better for it.
