You transformed it into a rope skull crusher lol. I personally do 3 sets of tri extension and then 4 sets of skull crushers. Been doing that for a year twice a week and triceps blew up.

The reason I do this exercise is for the lateral head of the tricep, so by emphasizing the long head, it takes away the purpose of doing them.

I'm trying to figure out my form with the rope extensions but when I do do it I feel it more in my biceps and shoulders than tris

The best triceps workout is the Skullcrushers with the Vbar. And the superset into close grip press.

What also gives the same stretch/burn in the long-head is what I do mostly; do 3 heavy sets of straight-bar extensions till failure, continue with a small rest(or no) to a single rope extension, which I'll perform 3 drop-sets till failure with. The burn is insane.

cbum does it also kinda, so you does it normal then turns and does overhead. i would suggest when supper sets done lower the weight on it.

For me I would do a 3 step, starting far then when I feel fatigued I get closer and then once fatigued again, you go closer
