Very good working practices, a nice clean job. But crankshaft end float should be checked with no lubrication on the thrust washers. Because depending on the viscosity of the assembly lube it can take out 0.001"- 0.004" of the lash and give you a smaller reading. It can easily be checked while leaving the rear main cap off dry to check end float. Then lubricated and final assembled after checking. It is advisable to keep to the lower part of the tolerance range. As the more end float it has the quicker the washer wears.
I repaired many Triumphs, that thrust washers had totally fallen out back in the late 70's. Using a machining method laid down by Triumph for warrantee repairs. And the odd thing was, it happened far more to the Automatics. Which is strange as there is no pressure on the thrust from a

One of the most gratifying parts of my engine rebuild was getting the cam and crank installed. Not sure why that is but maybe getting them installed and smoothly rotating felt like a big step…(?)

Good show, When I do the build I also apply good coating on the cam lobes' and anywhere else I can find with a White Paste Lubriplate No 105. Motor Assembly Grease. It's in a squirt tube and works great.

It's bad, when I can guess what's in the boxes by their size and shape!

I worked on british printing printing presses and rather than keeping everything metric Baker would throw in some British Standard fittings. They were right in between 1/2 inch and 12 mm.

Great show! I am still surprised that you are using WD-40 as a lubricant. I think the oil gallery holes are 1/4X48 thread.

Thank you very much! Your videos are very informative! Where did you get the engine oil gallery plugs from and which new oil pump do you recommend?

I think when you polish the crankshaft journals you are removing the old failed bearing material…..

As others have said, the mic is only recording on one channel. It is annoying.

I think there may be something wrong with your mic? Video starts off OK, but gets really quiet after a short while?
