The greatest part of this sub-series was the attempted rescue of Obi-Wan, by Anakin, Rex, Asoka and R2, at Obi-Wan's would be public torture. The scene's nod to Luke Skywalker's rescue of Han Solo from Jabba the Hutt, over the Sarlacc pit, during "Return of the Jedi, " was a clever surprise and absolutely hilarious!. From a disguised Rex's subtle "I'm ready" chin-lift signal to Anakin, a la disguised Lando Calrissian, to, of course, Anakin's two figure salute signal to R2 and the queen, which carbon copied Luke's salute signal to R2 and Jabba. This whole scenario does make you wonder if R2 was experiencing de-ja-vu while waiting on the deck of Jabba's sail-barge.
