I think it was because of how much tension it would cause to the republic planets that needed or used slavery, it would cause economic damage to all of them which would lead for an easy entry way for the separatists to take advantage of. All it takes is one planet to be cleansed of slavery for all the others to go “we’re next, we must stop them”

more relevant and logical question then : Why didn't the Jedi end slavery for Anakin's mother ?
She was a clear attachment to a boy too old to be trained that would be trained regardless, and any smart contingency plan would have involved her being safe, and watched. instead she was sold, tortured, and killed, which was pretty much worst case scenario and fragilized Anakin beyond any recovery.
This could have been accounted for. and it SHOULD have been accounted for.

I mean the clones were literally slaves, they were grown for the entire purpose of working for the republic/jedis and they weren’t allowed to leave
