while today I'll focus on orange juice fasting. 3-day juice fasting is something I practise every 6 months for the last couple of years.

Before some of you start telling me that fasting in unhealthy, I have to tell you that the proper, timed way of fasting is actually approved by most doctors all over the world. I'd like to invite you to make your research and discover some amazing health benefits of short-term fasting including improvements in blood pressure, cholesterol levels, insulin sensitivity as well as reducing the risk of diabetes and triggered immune cell regeneration. One of the best books I read about fasting is "The miracle of fasting" by Paul Bragg.
With that said, it's true that there exist contraindications for fasting, check out this article
and it's recommended to CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR before adopting a fast and adhere to it correctly.

i am glad you mentioned that it would be mostly water weight. Juice cleanses are a means to an end, but if people really want to make a difference it has to be a complete lifestyle change and commitment. I am not an expert but recently lost 98 lbs naturally, just eating food!! One that worked for me is eating more of your calories earlier in the day, and eating something that is low calorie but dense calories at night so your not hungry. One of the easiest dinners for that is instant oatmeal. Also, instead of consuming the 2000-2200 average amount of calories (or more) per day, you're on about a 1500 calorie diet. When I was on it, I lost almost twenty pounds. However, a word to the wise, eat fruits and vegetables, drink a lot of water, and this is the kind of diet that is meant to be a permanent change. When you get to the weight you desire, you can add 100-200 more calories to maintain your weight. My dad told me that healthy weight loss is 1-2 pounds a week. However, it is normal to see significantly higher weight loss in the first week as your body adjusts. I lost almost five pounds of water weight my first week. Eat lean proteins like fish, eggs and chicken, and some whole wheat toast in the morning will keep you going. This does work if you stick w/ it

Thank you for sharing! I really want to try this fasting method. I have the same problem in addicted to sweets and if like to try to see if I can get rid of the cravings.

Everyone should be fasting at some point :) Especially those with relatively bad eating habits and a lot of cravings could benefit A LOT from fasting. I will fast for 7-11 days at a time, only drinking water and pure green tea. A bit hungry and tired the first two days, but then It passes and you will have a lot more energy through the day and sleep a lot better through the night.. I would never be capable of juice-fasting! But water fasting is very simple, beneficial and easy and I would definitely recommend to everyone =) On the 25th of december I will be going for 21 days, which I have never done before. But I think it will be very interesting. .

Try the 30 day shred by Jillian Michaels - I lost 6 1/2 lbs in one month I could have lost more if I had a strict diet but I didn't. However I did cut out bread! Too much beard = evil weight gain :( well in my case that is. Also I drank only water or squash no fizzy drinks or coffee or tea well I had green tea 2x a day.I'm going to try and lose another 61/2 lbs by January :)

Nice advice but it is definitely working only if someone has a healthy food plan and sticks to it after the fasting. I personally avoid grains as much as possible and consume a lot of fruit for my carbohydrate needs. I also notice the reset of the body because when I eat bread, let's say, I feel sleepy and not energetic. Do you do the fasting in specific days when you don't have a busy schedule? I guess that it can make you feel weak during a busy day at work.
