I have a 2011 Mazda 3 and my last payment was 8 months ago. How good it feels not to have a car payment to me outweighs any of these.

I literally appreciate the non-turbo, straight six, in my E46M3, everyday more than this guy could ever know.

I just bought my car a month ago. It's a Saab 9-3 which is going to turn 11 this year and the top feature that (to me) beats all of those in the video: IT'S CHEAP!! It was cheap to buy and it's cheap to own. I'm not interested to pay $30 000 for a car only to have low emissions and a color LCD and i'm certainly not interested to pay for all those fancy features when they break!

5: Old cars are upgradeable, too. it's called "aftermarket, " and it's really awesome!
4: Old car headlights are just as bright, maybe even brighter, than new car headlights, and because of the lack of xenon bulbs, don't blind other drivers quite as much. Mid-60's dual headlight systems (two domes for lowbeam, two for highbeams) are also easier to get to, as you only have to remove the trimpieces around them, which doing so is fairly easy. They're also adjustable by loosening said trim and pointing them in a different direction.
3: Touch screen interfaces just cause more distraction. Being able to feel for a volume knob or AC knob (in newer old cars, 80's through early 2000's) is easier when driving 80mph down the interstate (motorway for any Europeans who may see this) while having to maintain a set distance from the truck in front of you (EU/UK: I'm talkin lorry, not pickup), maintaining speed, correctly changing lanes, etc. is easier than taking your eyes off the road to mess with your distraction machine.
2: Ever hear of an aux cord? Most newer cars have them, and older cars can have a newer radio installed for a few Benjamins.
1: New cars are seriously difficult to mess with, having all that electrical shit the average joe won't have any clue how to deal with, much less have the equipment. Nothing against fuel injection, but new EFI is extremely annoying to work on. TBI and carburetion are much more accessible to the common man, and are just as user friendly if tuned correctly. Also, TBI looks ok on old cars, so if you want to daily drive one and don't want to have to baby it to get it running in the morning, you could get a TBI kit like Holley's Sniper EFI and just plug and chug. It drops right down onto the manifold, install the e-fuel pump, take the old mechanical one out (which working on mechanical fuel pumps is so easy a monkey could do it while scratching his balls), put in a sealing plate where it was, and start the car. It has a self-contained OBDII EMS _inside_ the throttle body, that uses machine learning to perform basic tunes on itself to accommodate cold weather, warm weather, engine temperature, fuel consumption, fuel mixture stoichiometry, etc; similar to newer cars but much easier to get to, and no cabin space is taken up by a bulky ECU (as the ECU and EMS are self-contained, with an interface for the EMS that can be plugged in anywhere. If you want it out of the way, you could even put it under the dashboard, only to be seen while doing a finer tune!).

My Toyota Camry is 23 years old and still runs perfectly fine. I have a radio from best buy ($100+) with an aux port and charging and I get better mileage than most new cars

#5 Easier to be hacked
#4 I have upgraded the headlights on my 17 year old Saturn by retrofitting projectors. Even my 30 year old Camaro headlights have been upgraded with Hella H4 converson lights
#3 More distractions...don't need them
#2 Again more distractions
#1 This is why I see a lot of newer cars broke down on the side of the road. over complicated bullshit. What I don't understand is with Turbos you have to add fuel to compensate for the extra air, so why have a smaller turbo engine when you can have a slightly larger naturally aspirated engine and get the same fuel economy and same power with better reliability.

This video seems to be nothing but a sales pitch for the automotive industry.
Buying a car is one of the most expensive purchases for any consumer.

Encouraging buyers to increase their debt for such superficial features is
completely irresponsible !

I have an Infiniti QX56 2005. It's already 11 years old. Still works like new. I like it.

Can't say that I agree with the entire video, but I recently bought a new car with LED headlights. They are phenomenal! So good that I honestly get a little excited to drive at night just to see how well they light up the road. Weird, I know.

I wish there were more aftermarket options for head lights that are actually same or better than the oem equipment. I don't know why that's so hard. Even a car manufacturer would make lots of money upgrading them on older models.

I drive new cars everyday but i still would chose to take my 19 year old car with just the basic power windows, ac and heat, and a boring radio over any new car on the market today.

I love how they showed an sti when he mentioned turbocharged cars that combine power with good gas mileage. The old EJ blows through gas like crazy lmao. 22 mpg on the freaking highway. That’s v8 territory out of a turbo 4 cyl.

Turbo charging and direct injection? yeah great for mainstream budget cars but replacing glorious naturally aspirated inline sixes or V8s with a small turbo direct injection in your high end luxury car? seems a step backwards to me in terms of refinement aural pleasure not to mention smooth power delivery as opposed to the lagginess some of these turbo cars have.

Or, you can upgrade your car. While you can't do anything with #5, for #4, you can buy those high intensity headlamps with an adapter for the light socket for about $100 per headlight for a good one. For #3, LCD touchscreens, you can adopt your car with Crutchfield. Maybe not full functionality, but you will get some functionality in it. For #2, get a new portable GPS unit. It makes your car work with bluetooth on your phone and gets you connected (he mentions this option). For #1, if you have a Saab you already have turbo charging but no direct injection. So I think I will stick with my Saab and these upgrades and deal without the software upgrades, thanks (2006 with 167, 000 and no major repairs).

I can use my iPhone 6 plus and iPad Air, iPad Air 2, iPad mini 3 and Samsung Galaxy note 10.1 in my current car with an accessory. I got 2000 mustang GT convertible for a nice price with low mileage. I have a great setup in my car not bunch of wires every. When people get in my car they notice my car is 15 years old. The lighting thing I took car of that with Raxiom projector hid headlights. My car doesn't look piecemeal. Everything looks like it came with the car from the factory. I've done under the hood mods nothing to radical I'm not a street racer. Doing some suspension work also. I get a lot head turns from car guys
