There are dozens of new technologies in cars over the last decade, and several more coming every year. But which ones do we care about?

Cadillac had the night vision in their cars about 15 years ago but it never caught on and was dropped.  Cadillac also had "adaptive seating" where air bladders in the front seats of some models would inflate and deflate based on sensors detecting a high pressure point the occupant was experiencing.  When the bladders deflated it sounded like the person in the seat was farting so it went away too.

Mazda offered a tech to cool the interior of the car when parked on a hot day where solar panels in the roof of their 929 powered a motor to vent hot air out of the car.  This and their oscillating HVAC vent system never caught on mainstream.  The solar cooling on the 929 lasted only a few years and was a very rare option.

The smart key is the best tech in cars in the last 10 years or so.  It makes theft much harder and use by the owner so much easier to just open the door, get in, press a button to start up, and go.

Dashcams. Internet connectivity. Android/OSX. It's mind-boggling that one of these three aren't available via every manufacturer.

Finally the ratio is proper even though it was reposted!

lol you can completely eliminate blindspots by just properly adjusting your window side mirrors outwards. No need for technology, just brains.

get #4 on my F150,think them works better than the new displays in center console since it's more natural (you will look into mirrors anyway when backing up even if you have large screen in center console) and less affected by sunlight

Don't some older Hondas have the back up camera in the mirror? I remember seeing it in the 2008-2010 Odyssey

It's 2018 and all of these are already invited

I'm surprised that haptic feedback were the lowest. I think if car companies still insist to cram bigger touch screen in the dash they should have some kind of haptic feedback like "Force Touch" (god I hate that name). At least it would be more useful than those loud beeps every time you touch the screen

I'm the only one to see more and more videos with the sound not on the same time as the video?

I want a Dash Camera installed by the factory so I wont have to worry about turning it on each time I get in the car, no dealing with wires, batteries, mounts etc.  Don't know why car makers are not offering them given the popularity especially in countries that purchase expensive cars like Russia and the Middle East.

Ford had backup cameras on mirrors for a while and it was pretty cool. That's nothing new

is this list for real?  I already have #4 in my 2010 Ford Fusion.  I also already have #1 on my Ford Fusion and my 2014 Ford Edge....

So the tech that actually helps you keep your eyes on the road while interacting with the infotainment is the one least wanted? Hmm...

Hehehe. Got the blindspot, auto breaking and rearview camera on my car. Plus a dash cam. Yeah yeah! I'm all set for not killing myself except when someone else kills me instead... now thats a different story.

Mine would be cheaper, better batteries/charging for electric cars.
