I was a 48 year old woman who had acne like I was 16. Because of an increase in my insulin levels, I went "low carb". A few weeks later, I realized my acne had disappeared. My teenage kids started low carb, their acne disappeared. It was amazing.

I remember fighting with my dad 25 years ago for insisting that I should cut out sugar, when the doctors said accutane was the only option. Turns out dad was right all along.

43 years old. Discovered this on my own by starting keto. If someone had told me this 20 years ago I would have immediately switched diets and saved a lot of anguish and money.

I suffered with acne my entire adult life till Keto. I now at the age of 59 have amazingly clear skin and have people comment often on how smooth it is 🤗🤗🤗🤗

I developed a sudden, horrific case of cystic acne my freshman year of college...Accutane (at that time) was sort of a miracle cure. I also received injections directly into my worst cystic breakouts to "cut the inflammation." Yes...I said "cut the inflammation." My skin thankfully does not show the horrible scarring, but as a 51-year-old, I still was never completely breakout free, although it had gotten better over the years. That said, I haven't had a SINGLE tiny pimple, let alone a cystic pimple since starting keto 3 months ago. Here's the sad realization for me: During my junior and senior years of high school I chugged shocking amounts of sugar due to emotional eating and because I never gained weight I thought I had dodged a bullet. Ack!!!! I have already been sharing this blessed keto side-effect with those close to me who suffer with acne. Thank you, Dr. Berry, for covering this!!

Inflammation is at the heart of the so many health maladies. Diet in the form of sugars, grains & refined carbs is predominantly at the heart of the vast majority of inflammation.

Sunshine also lowers harmful bacteria on the skin, and provides good stimulus for healing acne. Along with the right diet, that's a powerful combo!

Never had acne but at 33 I got dermatitis that traveled all over my face for a year. Lots of carbs and cardio. Everyone said go to the doctor and get an rx. ONE WEEK after going lazy low carb it disappeared! Nine weeks in, it's still gone. Love watching you and your wife!

My skin has cleared up tremendously on keto. I've only been doing keto since last October, but the results became visible after less than 2 months.

Dr. Berry, I'm not a doctor, dermatologist or nutritionist. I'm "just a mom". I am 42 with a 15 yo daughter. She rarely breaks out. I may get a pimple on occasion. I have found that "washing" our face with olive oil clears up all pimples within 2 or 3 days. Granted, neither of us have severe, inflamed, acne. I mention it because...well....that's what works for us. Olive oil on a cotton ball, gently wipe face or apply directly to pimple. Follow with a cloth dampened in hot water and laid over the face. Pat dry. Not only does it nix any breakouts, but it leaves my face soft and without the need for a moisturizer. Thanks for making these videos. So helpful.

Terrible acne as soon as I hit puberty, so bad I was on antibiotics for years. I was a big milk drinker back then, well over a pint a day. I quit dairy in my 30s, acne 95% gone but I'd get outbreaks every so often. I went ketovore 1 year ago (at 50), acne now 100% gone, including my monthly hormonal acne.
Acne is 100% diet related for most, if not all, people.

Wish my mom could have known about this portion of your advice! However, after suffering with acne for over 35yrs, accutaine did work. It changed my life.

I’m only 2 weeks into Keto. I’m seeing a lot less oil and fewer pimples. My hair isn’t falling out near as much. I’m not diabetic or obese, but I expect life changing improvements otherwise.👍🏻
