I tend to use 4 without the ankle on knee still working towards that. Otherwise 1 is good for me with a stretch strap, as I am quite/super tight much of the time. Mind you I live a a region where weather is cold this time of year and generally speaking I feel better/looser in warmer weather. (Tight low back, hips and gluts).

Great routine - if you are young and somewhat flexible. Worthless if you can't put your ankle on your opposite knee.
