I've been watching your videos for about a month before getting my puppy. Tonight is my first night for crate. I used the tap on the crate, saying quiet and then immediately praising good quiet.

I counted. It only took 8 times of that. It is now peace and quiet in the crate 6 weeks old!

Thank you so much! I hope you read this!

For everyone saying “what if my pup isn’t motivated by treats?” You train them while they’re hungry. Don’t feed them till it’s training time (so train in the morning before breakfast). Make your pup work for the food.

i load treats into my pups crate as i get ready for bed, i usually find her sitting outside the crste waiting to be let in, i put them in back too. From day one she’s always been required to hold for release out of the crate, and at the door and gate, so important to have them managing their impulse control. She’s improving on greeting visitors, my visitors cooperate by not touching her until she’s calm. Thanks for all your videos, so helpful and encouraging.

Funny thing is, when it's time to get my new puppy out of my crate I have to reach in and get him. He likes his crate so much that he takes himself in there. I did not crate train him. He trained himself.

This was incredibly helpful. Many of these tips I have heard, but the way you put the info together really helped me understand why my pup is so restless in his crate.

THANK YOU FOR THIS! I started feeding my puppy (Newfoundland/Pyrenees mix named Wilbur who is SO CUTE if I do say so myself) in his crate and dropping the kibble in like Kayl suggested and he is doing so much better! He slept through the night the past two nights and I can't thank you enough.

I would like to see this with a puppy that has never done crate training.

It is always nice to see the examples but it is always with very well trained dog. Great to see what you do in the beginning

We’ve always used a puppy area, I’ve raised Jack Russells, one of the more difficult breeds, but now have Italian Greyhonds, which they have their challenges too. Great information.

This is very helpful. Our 8-week puppy refuses to go into the crate after 3 days crate training, even with high value treat

I am half through the video, following step by step with my 3 months old puppy, the door of the crate is fully opened and she chooses to stay inside. If I could I would post a picture as I’m so proud of her ❤

Our girl loves her crate/ den/ safe space. The door hasn`t been pushed too or closed since she was 8 months old, shes 4 in January. Although it takes up so much space, we couldn`t take it away from her. She has the run of the home and garden but loves her crate. If anyone has doubts about getting one. Watch and learn and dont think of it or use prison.

Wauw thank you! I just got a puppy a few days ago and I only put him in his crate when I'm going to sleep! I will make it feel like it's crate is a safe space to be in. I am going train him tomorrow or after tomorrow! Thank you again!

I crate trained my all my puppies alone with baby gates. I have not had to use them for my newest who is only 1 in a very long time. This video was a reminder of methods to utilize. Along with great tips for continued success should I require them. Thank you so much 💖
