Show your support for episodes on the Landsraad, CHOAM, The Bene Gesserit, The Spacing Guild, The Bene Tielax, The Honored Matres, or any other organization in the Dune universe I didn't mention! Let me know if you want to see seperate episodes on each, or if I should make one big video detailing all these different organizations at once.

4:04 Dune went from "unfilmable" to having a universally agreed on "definitive visual adaption" all thanks to Denis! Absolutely legendary

The Harkonnens were such fun villains in the books and in Villneuve's adaptation. Rabban was a wild dog, Feyd-Rautha was both sledgehammer and scalpel, and the Baron was a gluttonous, back-biting, unscrupulous degenerate.

The introduction to Feyd in Part Two was the most unique, alien, and captivating piece of cinematography I've ever seen. The whole cast and crew knocked it out of the park.

The thing I love about the Barons death in the new Dune is that he died pathetically, lying on the floor, being shown as ignorant of the planet he supposedly controls, realising he has no real power after all of the scheming he did to ensure he had power and unceremoniously dumped in the desert

Frank Herbert was right: Charismatic leaders make people forget that you are often dealing with monsters.

Despite the differences, I feel like they truly captured the spirit of the book in this film adaptation. One of the few films to ever get the Harry Potter or Lord of the Rings treatment when going from novel to screen. The portrayal of the Baron did a huge amount of work bringing the film to life.

The Baron was really the living breathing embodiment of the old aristocracy. So hedonistic and overdindulgent that nothing save for their own desires mattered. Wishing for more and more power until they're cutdown

Stellan Skarsgård did a really good job playing the Baron he made him intimidating and kind of scary.

My favorite Harkonnen moment is when in the 1984 film he finds his nephew Sting wearing his iconic swimsuit and The Baron totally says: "Damn...That's so absurdly gay...."

I think another villain in this series should also get an episode, and that being the master manipulator, Jessica.

I love Ian McNeice's portrayal. The baron was a flamboyant, yet disgusting p.o.s. of a man and the camp in his performance matches the movie's tone perfectly. It also seems like he was having a blast playing this character and that's always fun to see in an actor.

I will say that the most recent Baron is the most suited to his home environment. Seeing him (and Feyd and Rabban) under that eerie sun of Geidi Prime is unsettling to say the least.

I think an "analyzing evil of Dune" video would be great to hold us over until you have enough info to make individual videos as the movies come out in the future. I'd love to see more Dune stuff from you!

The fantastic acting of Stellen Skarsgard made me think of another character that he played in the movie The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. His portrayal of Martin Vanger was outstanding. To the outside world he looked like in average guy almost boring. But behind closed doors he was one of the most evil and sadistic people you hope you would never meet.

Definitely do one on Paul, who is either a very dark hero, or a very human villain. I think one on Jessica would be great too
