I don't like the departure from the book that the Baron is willing to kill people himself. It was a major character trait in the book that the Baron would always have someone else do his dirty work because it becomes an easy route of manipulation and blame. In the book, Piter, a hallmark sadist, is the one to kill Yueh. It was honestly a missed opportunity to characterize both Piter and the Baron and my least favorite moment in the movie. Otherwise, this is the best adaptation we have of Herbert's novels to date.

1. Never waste a good tool, a good tool doesn't need replacing until it outlives it's usefulness.
2. Always maintain leverage over your underlings. whether it's some beta's wife, or his drug addiction, or the secret antidote for the poison he doesn't know is in his system always maintain control over your underlings, make them depend on you.
3 always have an alibi, so that you're able to stand before the emperor's truth sayer and say 100% honestly. "I did not kill them"

4. Never trust a traitor, not even one you make. (See rule 1)
5. squeeze but do not kill, people can't make you money if they're dead, have a beta underling do the squeezing and take all the heat that comes with it (See rules 1 and 2)
6. become the carnivore, be always hungry, never stop wanting more and do not show mercy.
7. Rules are not meant to be broken, they're meant to be bent. absolve yourself of accountability by making sure the forms have been obeyed.
8. Killing and other such unpleasantries are wasteful, it's better to have people cooperative. In the right circumstances even an enemy will serve you faithfully if he think's he's working towards your destruction. (See rules. 1 2 3 4 5 7)
