Number 5 sounds like a homemade Miku pedal.

As always, quality video on a subject that many take for granted.

Keep it up, Kris.

Point # 3 is the absolute best reason to have a Volume pedal. I can’t play my rig anymore without one, I loose so much dynamic tonal control without it. Thank you for making this important point Kris.

6:01 was exactly what I was looking for. No other volume pedal videos seemed to explain in.a way that made sense for me. Thanks so much!

Great video! I wonder how many pedal companies are trying to build a wah/volume all-in-one pedal immediately after watching this! It sounded really cool

Number 5 is amazing! I think it could be made more easily by replacing the wah for a envelope filter, though.

Great playing as always 👌 #5 sound reminds of the type of sound, Jeff Beck gets with his talk-box.

Question

Great video! Wanted to ask for some help, at the 5:45min mark, I’m trying to achieve this clean to overdrive sound using my volume pedal. I have a Boss Bd-2 Overdrive>Boss Fv-500H Volume pedal>Boss Delay DDT-6, then into my amp. With the volume pedal in the off position (heels down), I’m not getting a clean sound. I have no sound. And when I increase the pedal, I hear overdrive and delay. So basically, the volume pedal is working like a volume knob and not letting me increase/decrease overdrive even through the volume pedal is placed right after my overdrive pedal. Any advice on what I’m doing wrong? Thanks!

Socks or bare feet make using volume and expression pedals easier, - you can do some pretty tricky things with a little practice.
Something about foot pedal control has always appealed to me, - maybe from piano & organ, -and I tend to check out effects that offer that option.
Volume & Wah, - EHX original Cockfight, Supro Boost, and a Dual Expression Pedal.
There are a huge number of possibilities barely explored with simple volume and expression pedal set ups; I find because of basic " toe tap" to keep time, that it usually comes easily and naturally to manage even complicated moves this way.I have a volume after my " dry" (dirt) board, before the amp, and a second before the wet( modulations, ) - this way, I can control all volumes and swells from the board.Swells work better with a drive or compressor before the volume pedal, anyway. It is nice to control gain via a volume pedal, but it can be problematic, depending on the set up.
