I started getting into the reptile hobby in February of 2018. My first reptile was my Bearded Dragon - Maxine Pegasus (creator of duel monsters btw). Since then, I have added five Yellow Ackie Monitors (Asus, Dell, LG, and two unnamed babies), a Chacoan Black and White Tegu (Frappuccino), a Crested Gecko (Destin), and a Russian Tortoise (Tortellini). I also have a dog named Thrall (yes, from World of Warcraft) who is a Dachshund/Chihuahua mix - aka a Chiweenie.

My goal with this channel is to share my knowledge, experience and journey with other reptile/animal enthusiasts and become a better caretaker because of it. Hopefully I can learn a lot from the community through these videos.

Unless you're in Florida, solely free roaming a tegu leads to digestive and shed issues for sure. They need high humidity and temps. Pubba has a foot of substrate to dig in (which he loves to do), and around his cave he has a giant hay pile that he tunnels within.

I like your vids! Keep it up! I have a 7 month old black and white. Not sure what greens to feed him. I do ground turkey, tilapia, salmon and sometimes friskies cat food with grapes, peaches, mangos, bananas. He wont eat berries and stopped eating yams after a month or so.

I give Pubba a large variety of food, from whole prey to ground meat, seafood, veggies and fruits, and insects. I have only recently been able to get him to eat fruits and veggies without having to stuff his rodents and chickens with them pureed. Another great supplement to add, aside from calcium, multivitamin, and vitamin B complex, is Mazuri carnivore diet. I get the powdered version. This makes Pubba's coat look flawless, shiny, healthy, and eliminates shed issues entirely. His deep black hues often emit a bluish glow now that he eats this combination. I love it 🥰

Hmm so that jaw thing is caused from high phosphorus? I never knew that. Did you dust all your meats with calcium to offset that ratio?
Personally, both of my guys do great with a range between 60-80% humidity. I like doing dry out periods for shedding too

Can they eat veggies if they are cooked? Just wondering because if they are cooked they can last up to a year in the freezer.

I cant get my tegu to eat fruits and veggies fir the life if me. Shes a month old now and will litterally spit out the fruits even if i try hiding them in a mix
