Onigirazu is a popular Japanese “sushi sandwich” that is extremely versatile, easy to prepare, and delicious (especially if you love traditional onigiri)!

As an Asian dietitian who loves Asian food, I’m hoping to raise awareness of balanced Asian meal options for those who don’t want another avocado toast recipe (though this is perfectly delicious as well)!

This meal has protein from the tuna, fiber from the veggies, and healthy fats from the avocado. Like anything, this meal is completely adjustable to your needs. For example, if you need less rice because you need to control your blood sugar levels, feel free to add less rice or sub brown rice! If you want more fiber, feel free to add more veggies, such as carrots.

TIP: Use room temp rice, not hot rice, when making onigirazu or the nori will become soggy very quickly!

I’d eat that as a light snack after my second breakfast.

I made your $5 recommended pasta with the garbonzo beans and it made me cry. Thank you for making food so cheap even If I didn't make it right I am now fed for at least two days. Bless you for all you do.

Can you do a video on what you buy when you grocery shop? It might sound stupid but I’m looking for some ideas

Instead of plastic wrap you can use rice paper. It all stays together nicely and makes it even simpler to eat.

Was inspired by this today. Mixed some toasted sesame oil and salt into the rice and added a bit of furikake on the rice as well. So tasty!

I’m recovering from an ED and this just motivated me to make this for dinner tomorrow ❤

cucumber is so underrated.. I cant eat any meal without a good serving of grated cucumber.. its cuts through grease, gives a freshness to everything and is just so cucumbery

I love your videos. As someone who is reevaluating my relationship with food, your advice about what to add to food to make it more nutritious is a great reminder. x

Your recipies look so yummy! One of your mason jar noodle soup recipes came up on my feed the other day while I was scrolling YouTube. My fiance saw the video and requested I make it for him to take to work for lunch. I made a version based on yours but I didn't have chicken and I subbed shrimp, and I didn't have oyster sauce (too bad because I swore I had some somewhere) and so I used mirin and siracha to give the soup lots of flavor. It turned out super yummy! I love that your recipes are versitile so I can sub out whatever I have in the fridge and it's still delicious!

I love eating leftovers this way, so versatile! My favourite is leftover chicken schnitzel with a dab of tonkatsu sauce, cucumber and carrot 😍 I can’t get it as neat as yours, though

Love these. I like to switch it up with imitation crab and a bit of cream cheese, sometimes shredded carrot too

not a fan of the plastic wrap thing, but the foodie itself is yummylicious

I made this for lunch today and even though I used quinoa and I was missing the avo, it was delicious! Thank you for posting your videos. I love them so much and they’re amazing inspiration for quick and easy meals

This looks like a very delicious, filling lunch. I'll also use these ingredients to make a tuna rice bowl. Instead of the nori wrap, I'll sprinkle furikake seasoning on top.
