This video is going to be about the things to avoid if you want to become rich.

When it comes to personal finance, you can play offense (making money, career, side hustles, entrepreneurship etc) or defense (budgeting, saving, investing, and avoiding money traps that most people fall for).

This video is going to be about playing defense and sometimes protecting your downside is even more important than looking after your upside.

Avoiding the common traps that can destroy your finances is one of most important things you can do. Here are the ten most common ones that have caused people to not be able to retire on time.

Enjoy,
~Shane

I know it’s seen as unromantic, but I’m definitely getting a prenup when I get married. People and situations can change, and especially if kids are involved, it’s better to get things organized when you’re still on good terms with the person.

You don't get to decide your future. You get to decide your habits and your habits decides your future🙌

I used to be a procrastinator until i adopted the motto 'the only thing you will be doing tomorrow is what you did today' to help light a fire under my butt.

Let's be honest. The REAL #1 thing to avoid if you wanna become rich is staying away from your relatives. (Jk)

Hey love your videos! You mention jobs that like high level execs, CEOs, marketing managers, etc . I think making a video on the entry level jobs you can get to work your way to that point would help young people entering the workforce like me 👍🏼👍🏼 keep up the great content :)

you brought up warren buffett as an example in this vid without having done your research on him at all. buffett enjoyed massive advantages when he started investing. His grandfather owned a grocery store, his father was a stock broker and congressman. His first stocks he bought at age 11? Which other children that you know would have had access to stocks at that age that didn't come from privileged backgrounds (and that's without the modern convenience of the internet). For that matter, not that many 11 year olds would even have been aware of the stock market. He attended Wharton for a few years before transferring. Those are all just some of the advantages he enjoyed.
I do admit it looks like he was very intelligent and most definitely an entrepreneur at an early age though.
All of this you could have gotten just from wikipedia, not even having to crack open a book about him.

I am currently 22 years old, about to turn 23 on the 20th of May. Your videos have been very helpful, especially what to do after Grad School in my field in Cybersecurity. I hope I am not too late to start a plan right now.

I kinda feel you, it shows how human you are, in some of your videos you are kind of cool, explaining your points in a soft manner while in your other videos you are super hyper depending on your mood.

Shane, can you make a video on realistic strategies for getting out of debt? I’m pretty much 9/10 for not avoiding these financial killers. Love your videos!

Thank you Shane :3 I don't know how to start investing at 15 ( im going to be soon 16) Like do you just go to the bank and ask them you want to start investing?
Right now I want to write my goals and my anxiety is helping to prepare for the future 😅
I think the best option for me is to get an apartment first and then a house for myself 🤔
