From the time I first read the Anne of Green Gables books, and watched the movies, growing up, Marilla has always been my favorite character in the entire series.
Nobody did a better job at playing her than Colleen Dewhurst. ❤❤❤❤

It's taken me nearly 20 years to finally see this whole show because it's so hard to find the seasons in the United States. I'm happy to say that the final season arrives in the mail in a few days!

Sara Polley's acting really improved as the series went on. I can tell from this early episode. She was much better later in the show. Colleen Dewhurst was always flawless. She was born to play Marilla.

I just realized that this storyline is really similar to one of the short stories in Chronicles of Avonlea!

So…do they wind up actually getting married? Or is it a cop out? Because they seem cute. And Marilla getting a redemption love story would be adorable.

Ok I'm really confused. Just what is this clip from? I thought it was Anne the Sequel but after purchasing it, which I liked of course, this love story clip with Marilla isn't in it. I loved Colleen Dewhurst and want the dvd that includes this storyline.

Read/ listen Marilla of Green Gables. The history is very off. But the detail in John Blythe and her relationahip is very well explaine. Even Matthew has a sweetheart! Spoiler alert-tgey both end up single 🥹😉😱
