Jonathan gave Gilbert such depth. His performance in the gazebo scene makes me so emotional. “Good bye, Anne. Don’t forget me” carries with it such yearning. He’s trying to move on but can’t. You hear it in his voice.

Thanks for posting these scenes. They are all very lovely. Anne found her dream guy in Morgan. They would have been good together I think. But Gil was her best friend and really knew her best.

I still really like the sequel but Gilbert is more consistently present in the first one. I honestly didn’t care much about the boarding school. Most of those women/girls were very mean to Anne so I didn’t care. But the small amount of Anne and Gilbert scenes together makes it all worth it.
