Why Does My Eye Twitch? Also, Known as Blepharospasm?

Eye twitching usually affects your upper eyelid, causing it to blink uncontrollably every few seconds for a few minutes. In some cases, this condition can also impact both eyes.

In most cases Doctors associate this condition with one of the following:

Fatigue.
Stress.
and Caffeine.

And in most cases these twitches are painless, and usually go away on their own.

In some cases, the twitch can be a sign of minor conditions, such as:

Blepharitis or inflamed eyelids.
Dry eyes.
Light sensitivity.
and Pinkeye.

However, in rare instances, this twitch can be a sign of a brain or nerve disorder, such as:

Bell's palsy,
Dystonia,
Parkinson's disease,
and Tourette's syndrome.

If you experience eye twitching long-term it is suggested to consult your doctor for proper diagnosis and treatment if required.
