Thanks Dr G, it can be so confusing trying to make sense of the variety of (marketing) labels on eggs, so this makes it clear. Great question for the egg supplier too! Cheers, Rowan

HI! Im a farmer with a small urban homestead in NC. I have had chickens going on almost 10 years. I have never heard of the term pastured chickens....we just call any chicken that runs free free-range...I probably will keep calling mine that just because no one else probably knows the term pastured either LOL....but home raised chicken eggs, unwashed and kept on the counter are the BEST! I have 25 hens right now and would love even more!

Back in the 80's we had up to 20 layers and for 2 yrs we had 50 meat birds. They got a little unmedicated feed in the morning and before retiring. They spent the entire days running around eating everything they could find. The yolks were a deep orange. The only truly healthy chicken eggs

I find Vital Farms and Happy Egg brands to be excellent in my area. But I still check two things when I crack my eggs: 1) egg yolk should be bright orange rather than pale yellow. 2) Shells are much thicker than low quality eggs.

Wow. I didn't know that. Its sad the deception that's in grocery stores. Thanks for the honesty. 😊

In UK, Clarence House, owned by Prince Charles, who has been organic decades before the word organic became fashionable, produces eggs from rare breeds of hens which are generally extinct in the country.
Eggs produced by the Burford Brown breed of rare hens are I believe the best eggs in UK.
You can see the difference in the colour and the size of the yolk to begin with but it's the taste that will get you!
No other eggs over here in UK are as good.
Perhaps in some farms there may be equally good eggs to be had but not commercially produced eggs that you can get on a daily bases.

I just found your channel and loving all your information!! I’m binge watching lots of your videos lately. Is there something to the color of the yolk too? I’ve heard the brighter orange the yolk is, the better the quality of the egg is but not sure if that’s valid or a myth?

Hi Dr. Gundry. I have learned about a plant that grows without even taken care of it, and would like to know your opinion. Jerusalem Artichoke. Is it healthy from your standards?

Are eggs good for people with autoimmune disease?

Costco has organic and pasteurized eggs that is so cheap and very healthy. When I eat it I see the difference. Most people in costco do not to chose to buy this and buy the other kind that is only cage free.

So one reason people do not like eggs is because of the way the chickens were raised, not the egg itself, ok..
