He counselled Emperor Nero, and thought that anger is a temporary madness, and that even when justified, we should never act on the basis of it because it affects our sanity. Seneca wrote a book specifically on anger called “De Ira” which defines and explains anger within the context of Stoic philosophy, and offers advice on how to prevent and control anger and that’s why in this video we are going to look at 10 ways we can control our anger from the teachings of Seneca.

Stoicism is a school of Hellenistic philosophy founded by Zeno of Citium in Athens in the early 3rd century BC. Even though it is over 2000 years old, more and more people are discovering how Stoicism is not only relevant to modern times, but can be applied in very simple, yet strong ways.

Seneca says “We shouldn’t control anger, but destroy it entirely - for what control is there for a thing that’s fundamentally wicked?”...Hope you all like this video. Do subscribe and don’t forget to press the bell icon for more such philosophical videos.

Anger is essential part off every person. I learned how to not run from your anger but express it in intelligent and patient way. There is no chance off living and not getting bullied etcetera if you wont use your anger in intelligent out of the box way and target those who deserve it and not hose who you love.

Anger isn't the problem. It's how we respond to anger. Ariatotle was correct. Anger can be positive or negative. Scripture says "Be angry, but sin not."

On a trip in 2016, im not sure what happened but I let the anger get the best of me and while i was walking with my friend at that time, she said I tend to get angry quickly. Those words itself made me angrier and hurt me but i knew she was right. A year later, I thought she was a good friend but she completely forgot about me. I cant say for certain but its possible she dislikes how angry I got during that time so she distanced herself from me. This definitely hurt me as I kept thinking what I did wrong because we get along quite well. I tried to stop thinking about this because sometimes it invokes frustration and sadness. My honest geeling during that time was that she gave up too quick. Ive had family and friends who saw this side of me but never gave up on me but she did 😢

You don't always feel anger longer than hurt, hurt causes anger, they have that backwards. Especially in matters of the heart

Anger can be used to motivate. Years ago I got so tired of being a slave to nicotine tabacco. I directed my anger toward the tobacco company and the gov. Every day i imagined not smoking was a fatal blow to those institutions selling me death.

Prison reformation is important, I agree in that, but the problem is that in the U.S. The prisoners are thrown to prison to be punished, not reformed.
