Goin' Fasting

With an open mind, I will be fasting during Ramadan this year, here are some of reasons why I chose to do it. I will update you when it is over.

Disclaimer: I'm not vegan (I don't like labels despite generally eating plant-based, and I have an immense appreciation for cultural cuisine and culinary innovation), nor do I think High School Musical was a great movie. They were just examples of things that evoke opinions that no one asked for :P. Sometimes people take on endeavours in life that aren't about health or convenience, and there is a greater reason pushing them. I am not doing this for physical health reasons. Repeat, I am not doing this for physical health reasons. If it gets dangerous, it it is required to stop fasting. Take care and much love to you!

Thank you for respecting my decision and being open-minded, I love this community. It seemed crazy at first to me as well, but it’s something that I want to experience, as experience has been my greatest teacher. I will update you guys at the end and let you know how my personal experience was and what I learned. Much love!

So rare to see so openminded people who truly seek to understand things rather than judge them. The way you explained ramadan and the reasons to why doing so is beautiful.

For all those saying she will mess up her health or body: itermittent fasting like Muslims observe in Ramadan has been studied and is proven to be beneficial for your health, look up the research.

This is amazing. I have always admired the Muslims who can fast all day and not binge eat after the sun goes down.  It does take such self control and mindfulness.  I'm not Muslim but I attempted to observe Ramadan fasting one year.  It didn't go so well for me.  By sundown I was laid out on the sofa too weak to sit up.  Probably because at the time I was underweight and had a very physically demanding school schedule.  Regardless it left me with a deep admiration for people who fast and do it successfully.  Much love to you and Terry.  Happy Ramadan to all Muslims in the world.

I am fasting too, as a muslim. I hope you get through this safely! It's a wonderful experience when you're in the right frame of mind. This month is all about getting rid of bad habits and adopting good ones and using it as a step up in our personal development. Good luck! Ramadan Mubarak!

Fasting is life changing! Take it from someone who used to get dizzy after skipping breakfast & now is weightlifting after 16h of fast. (Oh yeah! Oh yeah! ) 💪
Thank you for trying out things before building an opinion about them, u'll always get my respect for that.
Hopefully Terry will carry on fasting.
Ramadan mubarak everyone 🌙

Wow Cassie, good luck! I have fasted a few times over the past few years out of solidarity with my muslim friends as well and I truly felt good and at peace. I love the fact that the focus is on self discipline and being the best version of yourself as a human being and Ramadan always brings me back to the days where I would cook together with my friends and break the fast with the first delicious date. Wishing you and Terry courage and happiness!! <3

I don't fast personally but I know many people who do including immediate and close family members. The fact that you're doing this in solidarity with them and for the true reason - to understand and appreciate what a blessing it is to be able to eat food is amazing. Props to you and the people who do it EVERY YEAR, sometimes TWICE A YEAR.

I am Muslim too and I'm really happy you're joining us, hunger is the least of my worries because Ramadhan tests me mentally and helps me focus on the things that are actually important. It makes me more conscience of what I say and how I speak to other people, it's like a cleanse both mentally and physically.
Good luck :))

Currently fasting as well for Ramadan. It is certainly a challenge but a great one. This was such a good video! I loved that you mentioned Ramadan and gave a little insight as to what it is for your viewers. It just proves that you have an open mind. Well done :)

Beautiful! It would be awesome if you did an update video of your experience at the end of Ramadan! Just explaining what it was like and how you felt at the end of it❤️

Wow i never knew your mum was Muslim! As a Muslim girl, I feel so proud of you undertaking this even though you're not religious and I feel that you're doing it for all the right reasons; discipline and empathy for those who are starving on a daily basis! Well done and good luck, I hope it brings you a lot of peace and enlightenment.

I'm a fan from the Netherlands as long as I can remember. And you're one of the Youtubers who stayed herself, which I have a lot of respect for. And it's really beautiful that there are still people who are openminded and respectful towards other human beings. I think if everyone would be like that the world would be a better place.

Keep on going! <3

Btw: I'm fasting too. So I know what you're talking about :).
