"Extra glucose stored in your fat cells"? Glucose is NOT stored in fat. Excess glucose from blood stream is stored in muscles and your liver in terms of glycogen. There is a limited storage capacity. Excess glucose is converted to adipose tissue, fat.

If you fast for more than 16 hours, the glycogen storage is consumed for non diabetics, and your liver begins to convert body fat into ketones. Cells can use glucose or ketones for energy.

The conversion of fat to ketones is where the weight loss occurs. One must be careful of this state of ketosis. Keto acidosis, high acidic levels in blood, can occur. For most people, that state may take a week or more if consuming the proper amount of water. I personally use a Ketoscan meter to monitor my state of ketosis.

Note, it could take many days, instead of 16 hours, for your body to go into ketosis if you are type II diabetic. In this case, the person needs to gradually increase and decrease fasting window over a period of time, which is usually months. This trains the body to become fat adapted. Once the body becomes fat adapted, you can do 36-48 fast with little effort. The body quickly switch from glucose to ketones, fat, when fat adapted.

I started fasting and dropped soda. I lost 20 pounds in about two weeks. I exercised too, but nothing major, just 30 minutes a day. I felt great, and after the fast, there were a lot of foods that used to taste good, but now taste awful

Were just machines that are currently overfueled.

Our tanks get brimmed. But we keep adding fuel. So it decides to keep the tanks full and burn what it gets at the nozzle.

But we're still not burning enough of it so ultimately we end up with so much fuel to store that it finds places in our gut, butt, and waists.

Ultimately leading to fatigue and feeling off balanced during a goal of 72hrs(3days) but ended up doing only 52hours✨
However, I will continue to fast for spiritual healing and growth, and loosing weight would be a bonus that I could use💪🏼💯✨💟
